I have Booster & Vacuum canister --- Was told must use Vacuum Hose, never brake line hose. Question ; Have you ever used; Fuel Injection rubber hose or Aluminum fuel line or Stainless Line for a vacuum hose ? * I ask because we had trouble finding - DOT approved vacuum rubber hose with 3/8" I.D So we used Fuel Injection 300 PSI rubber hose
I have been told that vacuum hose is made to not collapse and fuel hose is made to not expand/burst and that of you use fuel hose as vacuum hose it will be ****ed flat and not pull vacuum. That said, I always just use whatever hose I’ve got available and have never had a problem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Glad I got that in before anyone pointed out that power brakes are not traditional Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
3/8" PCV hose Is what you want. Yes you can use hard line, but you have to have a flexible line at some point before the vacuum booster. KK
you really can't find something this easy? just google "brake vacuum hose" and there it is. https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/...8075cccd2/gates-11-32-inch-hose/27232/4330549 but yeah, it is often connected to 3/8" hard line, AKA steel fuel line tubing
I usually bend up some hard line from s****s I have laying around and a piece of rubber hose to tie it all together. Easy peasy.
Not hard to find the correct hose. We stock it at my O'Reillys. If the store by you doesn't stock they can order it and probably have it the next day- two days tops.
I cold see a steel line for running to a booster mounted under the floor but from the back of the manifold to the booster a cobbled together steel line might not have enough flex to it to allow for engine movement. Sometimes we are our own worst enemy when it comes to trying to make something that is so simple complicated.
modern traffic isn't traditional.it can stop on a dime without warning.i like to stop too.my booster is behind the dash out of sight out of mind..you cant see my disc brakes either.
