I have been lurking lately rather than posting because my last few builds ended before finishing because somebody spied it and offered good money. I hate to post builds/projects when I don’t get to finish them. Here is Stella, as my wife named her after her grandmother.

Got it in September from a small town in Hotchkiss, CO. It would run but that was it and it did not run well. Smashed windshield, missing tailgate, broken seat, bad steering box, no front floor and nothing electrically worked.

So far I have fixed all the electrical, floor pan replacement and mechanical issues it had to get it up and driving. I made the floor with stamped original beads because I could not find a replacement floor that looked original. Pretty much all is new drivetrain wise I did not open up the rear/trans/292 because fluid levels and color looked good, just replaced it. New brakes, cylinders. Added a “big job F-700” fan shroud and it stays cool all the time. She has turned a bit into a daily driver and I am impressed with its reliability.

I know that was long and these are not everybody’s cup of tea but thought I would share.

I think those are about the toughest looking trucks ever! You did this one justice.

Nice. Over the years I have grown to like those 60s more. Really like the color combo.

That is one sharp truck. And it lives again to be enjoyed.
I didn't quite understand this though...

Are you saying the drivetrain is original or you replaced it...or just replaced fluids.

From one 1960 F100 owner to another..... great truck! Fridges have long been under appreciated and are now coming into their own.

What I meant by drivetrain is new is every gasket, seal, hose, switch, etc. Every part was looked over and replaced if suspect. It has great compression and nothing that lead me to believe it needed to be opened up. No strange sounds, no noises.
It was just sitting for a long time and was a bit neglected. I have just repaired or fixed what was needed to get her road worthy. More is to come. There is some rust in the lower front fenders and a little behind the bumper.
My main next goal is new springs, and new window door seals. All other seals are new.

  13. Ah man your giving me flashbacks of learning to drive a three on the tree! Beautiful truck and looks like the one I learned on. Were there any ground gears in the transmission or any clutch remaining? If there was it could be the one.

Neat old truck! Back in HS I worked for a farmer in the summer that had a long bed 60 the same colors as yours. After a long day of making hay he would let me and his daughter take it to his private lake to go swimming. I am too shy to tell everything but lets say some of those farmers daughter stories you hear are true!!
