I've been off the HAMB for a long time, but when I heard about Bob's passing I had to share a story that I'll remember the rest of my life:

It would have been about 6 or 7 years ago this weekend at BTT50s that the sky opened up and it started pouring. We were going to get the HAMB pic taken together in a few minutes. Everyone around started scrambling for shelter and to cover their cars. Guy next to us was explaining to his kid how bad rain was on hot rods. Then Bob pulled up. With the top down.

I may have only met Bob a few times throughout the years, but his impact will remain. The greatest ambassador that hot rod culture could ask for. He will be missed, but more than that....he will be remembered. Rest in peace, Bob.

Yes he was a great HAMB member and a true hot rodder, but more than that he was a great person with an infectious smile and a way of always making you feel better just being around him. He made every event he attended a better place to be. Guys like him are irreplaceable. We are all better for having known him.

Great pics! I met Bob at the CCR after he had a slight fender bender. Cool guy. He reminds me of so many of my past friends. R.I.P.

A major loss to HAMB, hot rodding and the entire human race. One heck of a nice guy. He'll be missed.

Bob use to get me my rooms for the Nationals in Louisville, Kalamazoo and Indy. Always had a great time and although we did not hang out much I always made a point of looking him up at the shows and bull shit a little. The last 10 years I would only get to see him at Back to the 50s. I was up there this weekend and did not see the convert or the sedan and wonder how his fight was going . Sad to come home to this news. Rest in peace Bob and I will keep running the wheels off them in your memory! Larry

Never had a chance to meet Bob but I recall reading of his adventures on the HAMB and always looked forward to the next installment. He was living the life many only dreamed of. God bless you Maggie.

  24. RIP Bob! Only met him once at the 2007 Jalopy Showdown, and then saw his car at the 2014 Rodder's Journal Revival, but didn't run into him.
