    Tony:
"Happy Days" or "Good Times", in California. Dave used to make and sell the dies with an inexpensive press, and these peaked ones were a 'specialty'. Dave was in San Jose in 1982, moved to Southern Calif around '84.
His louver presses went all over the country, sold for cheap.
I would have bought one, but Moe Miller (Valley Custom, San Jose) let me have time on his. Moe folded the biz, now Bonneville Butch has his press. (also San Jose)

Here in Merced, Richard Ruth punches louvers on his self made press. (Gargantuan, 8 feet tall, 4 foot deep throat...
Press frame is skinned both sides with .125" sheet, louvers are perfect. The pressed louver fits into a lineup die, keeping the distance and alignment perfect.
Richard Ruth built the American Graffitti '55 Chevy, (also seen in 2 lane blacktop)
Look up 'Ruth Industries' in Merced. Tell 'im Uncle Mike sent ya.

Thanks Atwater Mike. I was beginning to think we NorCal guys were going to have to drive to L.A. or Phoenix or go louverless. I'll be picking up my latest project, a '31 RPU in the next week or so and the first thing I want to do is louver the running board aprons like I did on my '31 Tudor. I'll try to contact Richard, thanks

If you need louvers in the middle of the country, there are two places close together. One in South Dakota and
one in Iowa. First Randy Gribble Watertown SD 605-882-5700. Then Spencer Ia. Dennis Slaymaker 712-240-3334.
They both do old school louvers. IMG954797.jpg
