I am planning on doing a full engine rebuild on the 292 y-block from my customline this winter. Does anyone have a go-to-guy for machine work in the VA/NC/SC area? I'd prefer to find someone that has at least some y-block experience.

    Thanks,
    David

That is a large search area. I have had good success with Felt's Machine in Suffolk, Virginia. http://www.feltsmachineinc.com/location.html
They know Y blocks very well and did excellent for me. They are a small family-run operation and their prices are not outrageous, but they do have state of the art equipment. They keep their shop very CLEAN, I have walked through on several occasions.

Yeah, I know the search area is kinda large. I wasn't having much luck with a google search in my area. I went to the closest place to me and when I asked them about a y-block they replied, "what's that?" Felt's Machine looks to be about 3 and a half hours away, which is perfectly fine with me.

If you scroll through the photos on their website, one of the pictures shows a Y block front and center.

ask for Travis - he runs the front desk. His dad is Jay - who oversees most of the machine work. Jay knows Y blocks very well...haven't seen those guys in 4 years.
