Thats alot of iron, 275 cranks. You could make money selling this stuff if you had time and the space.

This is usually the kind of pricing I see people ask on large crank lots:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/155-...639307779QQcategoryZ34208QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

But that one lot, for 700 bucks is cheap! Even with transport costs. Case in point, the last turned 409 crank I saw went for over 300 bucks. One crank. One. Sure, there are turds in that pile that need to be wholesaled out to another rebuilder shop, but a guy could earn a lot of money for his own project by flipping this pile and keeping it away from the Chinese at the same time...

the 392 chrysler cranks sell for $500 as cores.it would be cool to just pull hemi ,flathead ,348-409 and other performance stuff and sell the rest as scrap

If I was close they would be mine. But now that you bring up the half deal..... Sure, I'll go halfs. But you're closer then me so you could pick 'em up right? :D

I paid over 2K for my Valasco stroker crank.

  11. I might be interested in going in on this for the Buick/GM stuff.
Maybe a chrysler here or there.
PM me and let's see what can be done.

You guys that are close enough need to cash in on this. If I weren't 1500 miles from them, I'd be bidding right now.

Be careful --Might want to check on the ones listed "392" --those shaft numbers don't look like Chrysler -- make sure you aren't buying a bunch of 392 International Harvester truck cranks .

Ok I take it back --partially--- the 1773755 & 785 he has listed as 392 chevy are hemi cranks --so there are at least 3 or 4 of them.

It would make a pile-o-bucks for someone !!

    I'm 400 miles away.

How much weight are we talking? I'm guessing 3-4 tons?

Trying to figure what it would take to get them back here (south of Louisville)

What you guys don't want I could take to the NSRA nats swap meet--

Someone save the caddy stuff too. I don't need it. Money to be made there for someone with time and space.

If they go to scrap, they will only fuel China's war machine.Remember history we sold all of our iron to Japan once,& they shot it back at us.

Only a few hours left. You guys better step it up!!

  22. Anyone in MO that can handle the logistics?
I have an investor for a chunk but no way to pick them up.

  23. If they only sell for $10 a piece....thats $2750.
    Anyone?
    Bueler?

  24. Arent they stored incorrectly?

I was told a crank stored on its side will bend. No??

  25. Good question/point.
All mine are standing or hanging.
The ones lined up for turning at the Machine shop are standing, but the "Kits" are on their sides on a shelf.
Any machine shop guys have a good answer?

I have always been told the same thing.

Brand new in the box they are all cradled out in carbboard or styrofoam. Maybe thats why they lay on their sides.

This guy sells parts on ebay. He has 91 parts listed now and a feedback close to 1000. If they were worth more as individuals, he would be selling them that way. Watch out!

Check again -- the seller has two lots up for sale(these cranks and a set of heads) and has a rating of 41. Please check your numbers.

Although I may be living in the doghouse for a while:eek: after buying them.

If any of you guys are good at parts numbers I could use some help.

I've got the list he posted broken down in Excel by make, number and displacment. I'll be glad to email anyone a copy of it if they can help ID some of the cranks (or check on his ID's -- those "392 Chevy" cranks are a little suspect:rolleyes: )

It will be a couple of weeks before I can get them -- that's a lot of steel:eek: -- but I can take the time to get organized.

Yeah, when I get them HAMBers will get first shot at them and folks that help me with the numbers will get a discount.

But I've been out of work for a year because of a *&^%&^%$ of a superintendent and I've got some bills to pay:(

I will get them checked for straight by a good machine shop.:D
