History Have you ever seen any of these? UPDATE

I found this Ford Emergency Kit box today and I have never seen one, anyone know the era? HRP

 

They are Model T era. I don't know details, but general feel of the graphics seems like late "T" period when they were flogging accessories. Empty ones are common, and I have seen a few with some contents.

 

Back in the early 20th century the buld filaments couldn't take the jarring of the rough roads and would break and go out pretty easily, and the tires were not as tough as they are today and blowouts were very common, plugs would foul out easily as well, so the auto came with these kits. And good luck finding a parts store.

 

If it's from the model "t" era then it's no use to you Danny I'll have it......!

If it came in a T that didn't have a generator, the lights were run in series straight off the 18v magneto. Lose one bulb and the other two bulbs were hit with 12v. Instant darkness.

I'd take a few. Would be a great accessory if someone has a pallet of NOS Ford emergency kits in your photo, I'd bet they could sell out on the HAMB.

Another offering from Ford in 1919 was the Ford Picnic kit complete with a grill and Ford Charcoal briquets. HRP

 

I’ve never seen one of those, but I have heard of them. Henry came up with the charcoal briquette. Was made from s****es from the wood shop. Kingsford was the name of the town where the wood shop was.
