    so is the truck going to have the flatbed and stake sides back on it ? or did you find a NOS bed for it already lol...

    It'll remain a flatbed @rob-redm since the bed is the one my dad built for the truck. I'm going to try to salvage what I can from it; the side rails are good, but most of the cross-pieces are tweaked and I'm going to have to engineer a better way of mounting it to the frame.

    Every once and a while I come across a bed, usually in the form of some old codger's farm trailer, and I think about scooping it up, but I really want to keep this thing dad's truck. I want to put my spin on it, thus the metal flake and turning the pearl paint job up to 11, but I don't want to change it too much from my limited memories of the thing.
