***le says it all, well almost! Looking for a good quality radiator for a deuce that is reasonable in price. Im 63, Im going to be driving till im 80 or so and at this pace the car will be on the road in a year or two. This means it needs to last me with good maintenance for 15 years plus or minus a year or two. LOL dont need the best, and dont need the cheepest just a good fit that will last around 15 to 20 years. Any suggestions? Oh and if I go to 90 I will need to rebuild the engine as well as im planning on a 15 to 20 year life span for it. After that its the next guys problem! Drive like ya stole it! Thanks in advance.

Bite the bullet and buy a copper/br*** radiator, they are more expensive.

The Walker Radiators come with a 10 year warranty.

I have a walker in my 32 sedan and it's 30 years old and I have never had a problem. HRP

None better than a stock one with a good recore, other than that some of the br*** copper after markets hold up better than the aluminum but a lot of road miles will beat them up , expect patching in the future

Using a zips riser also helps in the cooling,it centers your fan in the radiator when you use a 17 inch fan. HRP

Thanks, already to go with the fan. Need to do that in the Model A as well.

  8. Another thing you might consider. Put the filler neck under the hood and eliminate the filler neck on top of the radiator tank. Now you can run a filler deuce shell or bolt the original cap on with a metal strap to hold it (that is what I have done on my AVATAR).

  9. I'm a Walker user. Make sure you use the bolts and springs to mount it. I've had alum. ones. If you really drive it, you may have a failure.

In my past experience, 77 years old, a Walker is the only radiator I would purchase. I have owned several and they last for many, many years. The one in delivery was purchased in the 70's and is still going strong.

Better buy a Walker. Have two of them and have NEVER had an overheating problem. If you want to drive it like you stole it spend the money and bite the bullet.
Went to a rod run a few years ago while getting ready for the Saturday cruz I chat with a guy with a nice looking truck. Asked him if he knew the route we were taking and he says oh I'm not doing the cruz my truck overheats. He had a chepo alum. rad. with no shroud. He missed out on a good time.
    Just my two cents.

If your running a sbc, the guys I hung out with used the late 70s maybe early 80s Chrysler Aspen, Volare and I believe the New Yorker if I'm not mistaken on the years. The water necks are on the same side for sbc and are the same size and the height is perfect for the Deuce shell.

Here's another vote for Walker. Of the half dozen Walkers in my family's cars I cant remember any ever needing a repair. The Walker in my '32 is a dozen years old, and it lives just fine on this shakey old un-boxed frame.

I buy them from Rick's radiator in Azusa, CA. Well made copper/br*** radiators for considerably less money than Walkers.

Learned a long time ago that when it comes to Brakes, Steering and Cooling to always buy the best. You won't be disappointed or stuck on the side of the road somewhere.

I, like you, am doing this once and wanted it to last. You ended up with the best bang for the buck. I did the same when I bought my seat recently! Congrats!
