Gettin' there dude! Looks like you were workin' in the rain. F-ing ****ed this weekend! Whats up with the gas cans man? Mike
If you get rearended, you may be drenched in fuel, possibly lit on fire, then your skin will drip and fall off, then die from infections. Other that that, looks pretty good . Doesn't look like you'll have much leg room either. May be the angles and you may be short. Got any more pics? Mootz
if you get hit anywhere in these style cars its gonna hurt regardless. Ill have plenty on leg room its decieving. Im still looking for 440/450 21 tires for this *****.... Someone help me !
Not only that, you forget about the "dangerous" factor and with being "dangerous" it makes you cool.....
if you don't give two ****s about burning your face off, just think of the mother and two kids who are in the vacinity when you catch on fire, what did they do to you?????? …****
Yup, you only live once...why not do what you can to make sure it's for as long as possible? That gas can setup is flatout dangerous. And not that cool kind of dangerous like base jumping or something.
I'm not sure about Michigan, but up here you're not allowed to have the fuel storage in the p***enger compartment, or at least not without external venting.... That being said, the car looks really cool. Did you find the '30 rad shell had more room than the '29? I'm running the '29 shell and it's pretty small Is the car wet in the picture or did you gl*** in the top? Flatman
You are on a great start man just think a little more and you got it, remember rat rods and gold chainers we are somewhere in between.
Nice start. Where are you in Michigan? I say do a chop too, but a clean, well-done one, no more than 4" IMHO. Lookin good.
30 shell has a lot more room the car was wet in that pic thanks for everyone concern about the fuel tanks but i really have no other place to put tanks
Exactly no other room. Plus if he was to get any other style gas can setup it would still be in the cab in the back or front . if you put it in the front for some reason if the brakes go out and he rear ends some one then fuel still will go all over the place. your damned if you do your damned of you dont
Mate I was a Paramedic, you dont wanna end up like some of the people I have dragged from cars. One chick was burnt that bad that I had to lift her out by her ribs becaues the flesh just kept tearing off of her, watched her scream while she was incinerated to death as we beat the fireys to the accident and our extinguisher wasnt big enough to put out the fire. Sound like fun? Not only are you the one hurt, but have a think about the people who have to deal with this ****. Put a real fuel tank in the ****er and enjoy the broken leg from the rear impact accident without the searing pain of being burnt to death. Your call. Doc.
You can get fuel cells that will fit under the rear seat, hell do you need a rear seat?? Plenty of room then. Make a cool aluminum cover for it and no one will know it's not 'cool old style'. Mate, just make sure that if the fuel cell is ruptured it is contained and wont go everywhere. This is common sence. Doc.
There is no rear seat............ there was but now the rear seat is the front seat and the front seats/half of car have been chopped out And whats the difference if you have those tanks and they get hit by being rear ended compared to an aluminum fuel cell/tank in the same location. The only way to prevent either of this would be to cover the tanks from fuel falling/flying forward toward the driver or p***enger in such of an accident. They are German war tanks that were meant to hold and carry fuel. Yes true they were never designed to be used for what they are being used for but neither is the whole car... Like stated by poster child any sort of accident that would initial such a hit that it ruptures the gas tanks to throw fuel all over the driver and p***enger and that ignites to start burning them probably would already badly injured them any way were they might not walk away from it. And I totally understand what you mean but at the same time why build a rat rod then? Just my 2 cents Oh by the way. Wow I could never grab some one from their rib cage to lift them on to anything regardless of how much I had to. (Unless it was a family member) good work on that tho! But hey all in a days work right. im suprised she didnt p*** out from the pain. But Thats why im in engineering and not medical.
I have responded to many burn incidents myself seeing is how i am also in the medical/search and rescue feild. There will be saftey percautions there not just going to sit up there. Thanks for all the suggestions.
