Hot Rods outside chassis headers on Model A?

Hi guys! I'm wanting to install a set of outside ch***is headers on my 1930 Model A, similar to graffiti headers (pic attached). Does anyone know if these will work on a standard Model A wheelbase and clear the front tires when turning full lock? I've looked for pictures and not much luck. I see lakes headers all over the place, but I'd like something a little different.

Anyone have any advice or pics they can share?

No problem on mine. Split wish bones. Steering goes to stops, no interference.

Any more pics or info on this? I'm going to do the same thing and was wondering what others were using.

 

Took mine off and went more traditional. I did like the way they sounded better though. I think they were Speedway brand.

 

I recall two different types for 'T' buckets: "Cl***ic" and "Sprint". The "Cl***ic' when used on Model A's would s****e tires on turns, for their 'square' shape. (front tubes came out and straight down, where "Sprint" front tubes swept back, clearing tires on Model A's.)
T buckets weren't in trouble here, as they had suicide fronts and longer space between engine and axle.

Learned this from a 'newby builder', as he gathered parts for his project T bucket: A helluva deal from a garage sale, copy of a Ted Brown ch***is. (I rewelded most of it, but it turned out. Amazing what came in the mail!)

 

Would love some info on those DNA headers but can't find them. Where did you locate those?

 

Hey guys sorry for my late reply. I bought a set of the SS headers off eBay, now waiting for some parts from Sanderson (can you say SLOW??!!). Anyway looks like they will clear the tires, I'll upload pics after the install.

I've been debating on this same thing. I got a 28 A sedan, BB 427. I wonder how the sprint car style header with a piece of 3.5 pipe and a turn out and 2 of those auger inserts in each side would sound like?

 

Something like Warren's bad looking hot rod only a little longer pipes.

 

I may be the detractor in this but that style when put on a Model A always like it was put there as a an afterthought. I'd never have another set of calf burners on any car or truck though. It isn't if you or yours will get burned on them but when and how bad.

 

Now - these are some freakin' headers....
