Thanks for posting the pics of the eng/trans combo and the installed in ch***is pics. It appears from the eng/trans photo that the lower trans bolt ears are below the bottom of the bell housing....and no place to screw in bolts there. That is consistent with my experience trying to fit a later GM trans to a modified stock bell housing. May I ask, how is the lower porting of the trans case affixed to the bell housing? Also, what about input shaft length? Overall, I think the straight 8 looks cool in there! Ray

I drilled and threaded two 3/8 bolts on the lower trans case. Then I grinded the bell housing webs where the bolts were going to line up against the transmission and the shaft fit perfectly with the br*** roller bushing at the very tip of the shaft.
