Hello all, new to this group you have here and looking forward to any info I can learn from it! I've got a '53 mercury hardtop i picked up several months ago that I'm going through and fixing the POs boo boo work. Some of the previous work was a bit sketchy for my liking and I did not trust it on the road so now i'm "chasing the rabbit" trying to do it right. I'm mainly just running through the brakes, suspension, steering, etc to make sure its safe to drive before i put it out there. overall, she's pretty solid though. Anyways, there's my intro. Cheers.
That's the benefit of finding a virgin car. But anything can be fixed. Really like the Mercs of the era.
Yea, most of the problems i found were not apparent when i 1st got it. But its part of the game. Still a solid car with plenty of potential. I figure if i'm not willing to do it right, then I shouldn't do it at all.
