The instructions would have you mount the spare on the fender,but I did not like that,so I made a mount from a chrome dragster steering yoke and a brass handrail.Much cooler!
Its sunday! Let's get this rolling! I just finished the Revell 1/25 scale '29 A roadster, complete with a Buick Nailhead. I did a little paint detailing on the hubcaps and between the find on the valve covers and valley pan. Overall it was a fun little kit to build!
That's neat! I love gold engines! And gold wheels! I'm about ready to finish up this Beatnik Bandit that I've had painted for a couple years, just needed finish assembly! More pics later...

That's perfect! You've got a great eye for detail! Windshield rubber! A chrome divider bar! Where did you get the hubcaps? I finished up my Beatnik Bandit kit... now I want to throw it away! Damn painted whitewalls!
Thanks! The hubcaps were a custom option in 1960 3-in-1 kits by JoHan. Nice work on the Outlaw and the Bandit! I haven't successfully built those kits yet – they're really fiddly!
Thanks for the info! The exhaust on the outlaw kit was a challenge. I had to reshape each header pipe with a lighter to get them to fit right. Decals we're a challenge too, but I'm really happy with how they turned out on the Bandit. Decal set was used and it really turned out nicely.
I picked up this genuine survivor from the '50s in pieces at a club meeting awhile back. Just reassembled it yesterday. This cool Deuce roadster was built from Monogram's 1/24th #P2 Hot Rod kit (their second car kit) that would eventually be reissued in the late '50s in much modified form as the "Drag Strip Hot Rod." #P2 was first issued in acetate plastic, then in styrene, like this one. The kit depicted a highboy roadster with a dual carb flathead, but this builder chose to build a channeled roadster with long side pipes from two Monogram #P1 Midget Racer kits. He achieved a killer stance by modifying the attachment of the and rear front suspension. He also chopped the radiator and lowered the headlights to an illegally low, but cool location. While it still an amateur build, the result is a model that's more than the sum of its parts, with the look of a dry lakes car from the late '40s or early '50s.
