There was a guy in Cudahy Ca. when I was groing up with about 40 cars in his yard.He wouldn't sell ANY of them.He had,ready...'36 3w,'55 Nomad,3-'48 woodies,at least 10 '32's,and 10 '33 and '34 coupes. My sister dated his son.I used to go in his yard and just go crazy. When he died his wife called a salvage yard and had them all hauled off! Wonder what happened to them?

I think the old guy deserves a HAMB-gressional Medal of Honor for not letting them get crushed over the years.

Don't give up so easily.... I have owned at least 5 cars that were "not for sale" Two of them were even free.... '55 bug and '64 chevelle convertible.... It just takes persistance..... (10 years, 4 times a year asking if it was for sale yet on the Chevelle...)

  15. looking at what he's growing it's easy to figure out how he can afford the cars, I say we turn him in and buy the cars at the police auction

I hate people who hoard **** like that. What a motherload.

I hope they dont rot beyond repair. :(

I would love to have one of those 3 window parts cars :)

You have to go back and make friends with that guy... Help him out with things around the place. He'll find a place in his heart to give you one Im sure. :)

You guys can have the 3W, I've been looking for 36 roadster for 10 years.

I'd trade my wife for that car.... and she's a good woman.

    What a collection.

That is one very fortunate old man to have owned all of those. The memories he must have as he walks around and sees all of these are definitely worth more than any amount of money. We all have memories of past cars we have owned and they always seem to fade after the car is gone. If I had the space and the money to do it I would probably do the same thing he has done.

That being said I would not mind getting my hands on a few of those either.

Discretely ask the old guy if he has any kids. That way if he p***es from this earth you will know who to contact to purchase the cars. I've seen it too many times - an old fart that doesn't want to let go of anything p***es and the kids have the cars crushed because they don't know what to do with them. I'm going through the same with an old fart now - I found out who his daughter is and have made contact with her. She was glad to know I was interested in the cars because she said that getting rid of them off the property was going to be the first thing she did when he died. She said she couldn't understand why he held on to all that junk.
    Good Luck!

You guys can't call me a hoarder cause I sold a truck cab last year. And I TRIED to sell my '35 coupe, but no one wanted it. So there. :D hahahaha

Cool pics. I wouldn't mind getting a delivery or a wagon eventually.

I didn't take pics so don't get on me about 'em but just for grins I spent two hours driving around some of the old farms I remebered old cars around when I was a kid 40 years ago this last Sunday. Within 30 minutes I found a '36 Ford 5 window that was complete and about 5 or 6 mid to late 60's muscle cars sitting around. A lot of the old piles have been sold for s**** or dozed under but I bet if I could get back off the highway I could have found another dozen easy. Gas is expensive but so is good tin if you find it, but you have to get out and look. Out of the way rural areas get picked over but a lot of stuff is in plain sight in town and people just ***ume its not there. And follow up any lead you get no matter what!

A picture is worth a 1000 words. Resizing is easy. I will list two different ways with programs almost everyone with a computer has. Here's all you have to do:

Right click on the file name in it's folder and click "open with"
    a list will come up.
Use one of the following to open the picture:

    Microsoft Office Picture Manager:
    1. Once your picture is open click "PICTURE" in the top tool bar
    2. In that drop menu click "RESIZE"
    3. In the percentage box type a number (eg: 50%)
    4. Save the file

    Paint (almost everyone has this)
    1. Once your picture is open click "IMAGE" in the top tool bar
    2. In that drop down menu click "STRETCH/SKEW"
    3. in the box that pops up fill in the size percentage for vertical and horizontal. (eg: 50%)
    4. save the file

After resizing go to "manage attachments" in your post and try it. If they are still too big you can go back and make them even smaller.

I know a few of you guys have some problems with this so feel free to copy this to other threads.
