Guess everyone's seen these pics, no big deal. Or maybe precious few are interested in streamliners and belly tanks.

I will repeat, I am simply re-posting @CW's40PTU s thumbnail pics in an enlarged size, in the interest of sharing this outstanding history with more HAMBers, Sure didn't generate much interest first time around (mystery to me).

I think there was more interest than you think, many people view a thread but don't post on it.
I just can't imagine anybody on this board would not love these pictures, its what the HAMB is all about.

  16. This IS what the HAMB is all about, but I see the old guys (like me ) leaving here for whatever reason, and being replaced by (some ) clueless young guys that think the HAMB is an all around "car" site. Most of these cars are DECADES before a lot of members were born and they just don't get it. Same with drag racing.

Bringing back one of the HAMB's best photo threads of all time, courtesy of Craig @CW's40TPU. Thanks @Stogy for reminding me of this awesome thread. Mark @Moriarity maybe you can feature this thing so our fine HAMB bretheren can enjoy this HAMB Gold.

threads have to earn being featured by number of views and replies, there is nothing I can do to "feature" it

@BrerHair thanks for the mention and enlarging those pics was a good thing for sure...they warrant our full attention...those that don't understand period correct will benefit from these and others he has shared in other Threads...family heirlooms of incredible times...

I still visit these Threads periodically as my input here at the Hamb involves the History and many times the imagery. So these help crossing T's and dotting I's .

CW's life has really encomp***ed a grand period in this Culture we celebrate and continue to understand and many times step back to mechanically...

If any of you here know him, thank him for his contributions here...it's a priceless, generous gift that I'll revere till I'm no longer...

He's a Southern California old-timer, friend of Jack Stewart's etc. Rik @Rikster befriended him and I would bet some of our HAMB SoCal old-timers like @296ardun may know him. Craig @CW's40TPU we appreciate you!

OLD BONNEVILLE & EL MIRAGE PICTURES -1940'S 50'S

    Hello,
I like old Bonneville and El Mirage photos as much as the next guy, but shouldn't we post photos of the time period as per the topic choice? PICTURES -1940'S 50'S

1966 streamliners are not from the 40s or 50s. A Bonneville photo as nice as it is, is 65 or later, so it misses the "PICTURES -1940'S 50'S."

So, before the whole thread gets chucked, post only photos, drawings or historical facts from the time period posted on the ***le thread:

OLD BONNEVILLE & EL MIRAGE PICTURES -1940'S 50'S

    Jnaki

I have been drawing several old streamliners as inspired by those old 40s-50s photos. They may not be as modern and swoopy as the current streamlined race cars, but that is part of history and the early beginnings. IMHO

@jnaki, sometimes its as simple as computer literacy, posting issues or even being overwhelmed with pictures...I always say do the best you can...I have to say CW did an incredible job scanning these...

Despite the skewing of period we are fortunate they are here and not lost in the red x kerfuffle...

He did another Thread on roaring roadsters...with equally incredible footage...

Great Thread & pictures. So many cool vintage details chrome wheels, 3 on the tree roadster, Caddy flathead v8, independent suspension........ not even to mention the historic racers. .How advanced was the streamlining so long ago!
    Thanks to all who posted!
