So decided tonight I was going to redo this ole Coleman cooler up that I bought a few months back. Rough exterior for but well worth the “restoration”. Don’t mind the wife’s feet on what she’s calls the “foot rest”

I'd strongly recommend rigorous, extensive safety testing before placing some antique like that back into service. Can't be too careful. Fill it with beer and ice and report back.

Now I'm inspired, but want to keep the Penguin. Maybe try some Meguire's Concours rubbing compound ;)

i have used that rubbing compound on old lawn mowers and man oh man what wonders that stuff does! Picked that trick up from an elderly gentlemen I cut grass for in my teenage years. His 30 year old Toro push mower still looked brand new, no wonder! And actually I almost picked up Rustoleums new Vintage Teal rattle can because I thought it would contrast much better with the liner but went with my good ole favorite flat black

Coat 3. Absolutely not perfect but it’s a darn cooler! I ran out of the flat black but I got an old can of Bed liner that I’m gonna be using to paint the bottom of it. Good idea to me if my dumb ass would be out and about and I drug it on some gravel or something. Payday I’ll be heading to the parts store to buy some red pin stripping and order me up some ole fashion stickers.

Definitely will do before I attempt to take it with me when I go camping with my pal from work in a few weeks. Hate to get it out and then by the time I get to the campsite have no ice and warm beer. Talk about being pissed
