Looks like "Mild" is the best way to keep that "look"

One of our Local Baltimore guys has owned a mild custom 55 since 1961. The blue paint is flawless candy blue with candy red scallops

Yeah !!!! Still a 6 cylinder !!!! His other 55 is this Ranch wagon

 

Even the Gals love a '55 Ford.

Great looking headlights.

 

All that can hold you back is $$$ and time. Personally bar grilles don't look good to me as we had one on our 55 after my brother knocked in a fender in 61. 54 Chevs are the eziest to get and Desotos are great. 56 Olds are the best headlights. Lee lenses are the quickest on the rear and smooth front and rear bumpers really add to the custom look. There are so many options it will be a tough decision on each one.
When you think your ready for color have Moose on the photoshop thread do it up.....worked for me.
