Ok so i have a 54 ford mainline. im doing a 302/c4 swap and already have the mount kits i found from another thread. i have seen a few things about the oil pan but never really saw a definit answer as to what kind will work on the car. also i am looking to buy a gas tank for the car as well and 52-54 seem to be the hardest cars to buy stuff for. any help is appreciated thanks.

thank you so much and ive got a 302 out of a 68 mustang but i think the oil pan might be different because it has a middle sump. were the original ones front or rear?

You don't need a kit to install the 302 check out this link: https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/media/albums/289-302-351w-swap-mounts.41498/ The part numbers are listed, the 1968 Mustang should already have a front sump oil pan https://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Fron...363368?hash=item2f1eedcae8:g:W4UAAOSw9mlbWhAD The oil pump pick up is a Melling 68-S $15 at autozone.

It's really easy to use a 1955-56 gas tank we have pictures of the install in the 1952-59 Ford Social Group it will save you over $100 about 99% of the time the vendors are out of the 1952-54 tanks it's been like that for years. The Group has a huge "what fits" file to save you money and frustration, join up you will get the right info from 100% Ford guys. ;) https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/social-forums/1952-59-ford-social-group.282/

These are pictures of a '55-56 tank in a '54 Ford sedan there is a very slight difference in the filler neck angle which most eyes can't detect. 1firewall.JPG 1firewall.JPG

i cant see anything on the social forum it says insuffiecient something and i didnt know the only differance was that the neck was bent compared to straight. do you just straighten the filler neck? and the 302 i bought the guy put a fox bosy pan on it so i had to buy a new one. not a fan of chrome for oil stuff but ill make it seal alright
