Just bought a 57 Cheiftain thats not quite road worthy yet for 3,000 canadian rubles. But the rad is leaking, so i took it out. dropped it off for a repair and got a call back saying they would need to recore it for 700$.... It would be cheaper to just go to the junk yard and pick up a rad no? i am not rich and have far to many project cars and not enough bankroll. but my plan is to get the car up and on the road cheaply as possible. Any suggestions or thoughts?

Aren't Canadian Pontiacs Chevys (wow, 4 capitalized words in row) under the sheet metal? I would see if a 57 Chevy radiator would work.
If it's got a chevy engine or not you should be able to find a Chinese aluminium radiator on your favorite auction site for under 150 USD that would be at the very least adaptable Sent from my VS996 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Found a Radiator on ebay for a 57 chevy bel-air. looked pretty close so i bought it. 126$ shipping and handling to canuckia.....
Not certain if a Chieftain is a Canadian car. Remembered they had names like Strato Chief and Laurentian on Canadian cars. If the front suspension has ball joints and not kingpins, it should be Canadian which should make it very Chevy interchangeable.
