Me and hack both are getting burned out allready on this thing but we both refuse to give up on the quality of the job and making it to billetproof. Today we had a late start both slep in. I worked on the chop for a bit while i was waiting for hack to get here. just got the c pillar lined up and tacked in place after making a cut along the crown of the roof so the side would come back to the body again. I needed a brake from the chop for a day so i decided to lend a hand on the chassis. I started by drilling the holes in the trans crossmember for the fuel and brake lines to go thru. Hack started cleaning the front half of the frame up and getting that ready for paint since the suspension was well enough out of the way. As he was waiting for that to dry he got going on getting the dash tore down for paint. That took some care and time to make sure nothing got broke and every thing was off. there is a bunch of shit on that sucker. But its all good to go. I just have to sand it down tommrow and its ready for the painter. About then the UPS guy showed up with my front drop blocks that Porkchop sent to me. I didnt thing it would be a huge deal to install these things. But man after trying to grind the rivets off of the control arm on my back i said fuck that and just took the 4 bolts off that hold the control arm on and that made life wayyy easier. After a hour or so of grinding the rivit heads both control arms were apart. I handed them over to hack to install the blocks with the supplied hardware. This is a preety sneeky set up im really glad we did it. As he was installing the blocks i got the cut coils cleaned up and sprayed em red. cause hack says all springs should be red By that time the controll arms were ready to be prepped and painted. so they gt spray bombed while hack was painting the rest of the front suspension. We called it a day by that time. But then my buddy from down the street ended up stopping by to check out progress and he wanted to help throw the front end back together so we tossed the lower control arms and springs back on it and bolted it all up that way its done and ready for hack to get at the front brakes in the morning haha but as i type this i just rememberd im stupid and didnt have the shocks yet. oops... i wont have those till tommrow looks like i get to pull the up right loose again I need to sleep heres a few pics hopefully a lot more will get done tommrow with the roof. And hopefully by friday we have the motor and trans in place. o yea i allso cleaned and painted the steering box its pimp silver cause its hott!
haha would be but i ran out of oxygen today as i was about to cut the rivits off the easy way And rudy mud would be great have fun you fucker
Well this is good news cuz no matter how much of the chop is done your not cruzn to BilletProof without a sucessfully running drivetrain. Now you'll have a solid two weeks to get the drivetrain running and iron out any surprise issues that might arise. Keep up the motivation and stay focused. Good luck. I'm sure Rudy will check with you over the weekend. Perhaps we'll even call while we're doing a mud lap!
Looking good. Glad to see you're keeping up with it. I wish I had the time you two do...being at work sucks knowing so much progress could be getting done on my car. But oh well... Keep at it!
It's simple bud....all ya gotta do is quit your job! Problem solve. 24 hours a day to work on your car.
It's a small block Chevy that ran flawlessly in the car we yanked it out of...the trans is a good 700r4...no street rod EFI, air conditioning or Whiz-Bang electronics to contend with... ...no worries, it's a slam dunk.
I've been catching up on reading all these "flying monkey updates". I think you guys should just give up. Customizing cars is a silly waste of time. I'm just kidding. Looks great. Just think if you dragged this project out over a 2 year period or whatever. I think it's worth a whole hell of a lot more since you're thrashing your way through it at marathon pace. Well actually I just think it's more entertaining this way. Reality show indeed.
Me too, I'm struggling to get my sedan done as well. With all this rain you should have named it "Sea Monkey" Gus
