go every year with my 27 but this year i am not why you ask? because last year you would not let the triumph run you said too new, i said ok rules are rules ,but then i see a new harley run it looked old but it wasent and all those wizzers well they are not old, the 56 ford are a exception? why.. plus some others slipped thru, so if you going to enforce the rules than do 100% its too bad cause it a good show but i dont go for its ok for him but not for you...............too bad,,,,,,,,the t/a ebay elly will not be there nor i......flyn

I'll be there for sure. It's always a blast. I'll probably be driving my '27 T Pheaton.

  5. and don't forget...(blatant spammy plug hijack-a-roonie)

if you want to make a weekend of it, you can join us at LACR on saturday the 3rd for the ANRA summer nationals.

FREE ADMISSION FOR ALL H.A.M.B.ers! just PM me.

  6. I couldn't agree with you more, last year my buddy was told his Trumpet was too new, nevermind the fact that the previous year he won best of show AND his class on the strip! I like the fact that I can run my "antique" gibbons' bodied, TPI 350 powered "1932" roadster there, but my friend with a FED was told he couldn't run b/c it looked "too new" WTF? The first time I ever went to this event, I was hooked, I loved it, but anyomre it's about the money and not the spirit of the original event. I'll be sad not to go as this will probably be the last one @ LACR, oh well.

  7. Hi Skip. Looks like I'll be missing it this year but not by choice. My work is moving shops that weekend and it's all hands on deck. I was looking forward to seeing if my blower would propel my POS out of the sizzling 17's and into the scorching 16's. Last year the weather was actually pleasant for once, it can sure get brutal up there.

  8. I am going to be there
A first time for me, a bit far to travel every year:D

  9. I will be there again, its the one can't miss event there is for me.Gonna see how much faster my car will go with a rear end and tranny swap, plus I got the ok to run the Great One's Alky 97's, and he said I can put 15% in it!Weak on the singling out of some and not others tho, and what about the REAR engine digger with the 60s Tempest 4- banger that ran last year?Must have been a 1954 prototype?

I usually go but I'm trying not to regret picking sundays to work over saturdays, oh well.

  11. Stop by the BFD pit and say "hi"...

And then Saturday night at the Holiday Inn... be there.

    Sam.

Wish i could be there again but not coming out till later this year, it has to be one of my all time favourite events!

Just make sure you have a poo before you go.......the heat & sheet don't smell to good by the end of the day, the flies looked happy though! :)

How do you get a seller booth there? I want to promote my new wrecking yard, which has over 100 classic cars and is about 4 minutes from there...

  18. Not a HUGE party... but starting at about 5:00 or so, guys will be out there.

Wayne, do you want me to bring the pile-o-rusty sheet metal you left in my garage?

Great turnout for the Antique Nats! Only 2 cars in street driven flathead fours, Crazydaddio and myself. I dialed a slightly slower e.t. and got a good start. Daddyio was running good and broke out of his dial-in. Oops!, so did I. The problem for me was I broke out by 3 tenths and he only broke out by 1 tenth. So I was ahead from start to finish, and he won, but that’s racing and we all had a good time. Top eliminator was Ferguson’s GMC dragster with times of 160 mph and 8.2 e.t., a great run!!! Bob Ambrose from Grass Valley won the banger dragster class with his 4-port Riley at 108 and in the very low 12 second bracket!
