Im buyin a 56 pontiac in St. Louis, and drivin it back to Dallas. It hasnt been proven on road trips and its not a daily driver. It should make it, and Im hopin for the best, but tryin to plan for the worst. Anybody between Tulsa and STL who might be able to help me if I run into problem? Big thanks to Rashy in Tulsa for offern some help.

And I was plannin on just takin the route Yahoo maps had planed out: http://maps.yahoo.com/dd_result?newa...TX&tcountry=us. But a hamber sugested that I "I-70 east to I-270 south to I-44 west to I-35 south at Oklahoma City to DFW." Anyone tried either of these routes or know which might be better?

Im makin the trip on saturday, my flight comes into STL around 10:30, and if all goes well Ill be back to Dallas before Sunday...

    Thanks,
    Cory

  2. Once you get outta Tulsa (Don't bend over, if you know what I mean :D ) just stay on the turner turnpike to OKC. You could take Rte 66 if you're not pressed for time. Once you get into OKC just stay on I-35 south althe way to DFW. Good roads, I'm sure you've driven them before. I'm in OKC and will be around the house this weekend. If you want I'll PM you my # and I'll try to help out any way I can.

Hey man, I go to St. Louis all the time to see my folks. My most direct route is I44 outta St. Louis, towards Springfield. Stay on 44 to Big Cabin (appx. 60/70 miles from the MO/OK state line). Take 69 south from Big Cabin. That will get you straight back to Big 'D'. About 625 miles, that way.
Email me if ya want my dad's number incase ya can't get outta town. He actually lives in St. Charles, about 10 minutes from where your pickin' up the ride.
Good luck - BTW - Big Tony is lovin that '54.

I'd take a look at going down I55 to Memphis, then I40, etc.

It's been a while since I took that route but seems I recall that expressway was a toll road -- expensive and could be tough for someone to get to you.

Second idea as mentioned -- look at some back roads. Sounds like you're not planning on making a "speed run" so see some of the sights while you make the trip!:D

ive always done the big cabin route. my inlaws live in STL and we're in DFW.
its pretty direct, good speeds and lots of backroads with services shops and what not along the way thru OK if you get in a pinch.
69 turns into 75 about an hours north of TX.

    good luck with your trip.
