What pisses me off is why is the cost way more directly from them than from Speedway? I learned the hard way. Should have done my homework. You think it would have been the same.

If you want it Dave's way, Wendy's is the answer. ;)

  4. hmm, if it's Southern Rods and Parts, Inc. 2125 Airport Road Greer, SC, i just went to thier site and they don't sell walker radiators (at least it's not in thier branded page).

I see a couple of comments about radiators getting replaced at no cost. This is a very valuable bit of information knowing that the company stands behind their product so well. What is Walker's guarantee?

On the topic of radiators I have a couple of questions.I am running a blown smallblock with a US Radiator. It seems to run a little warm and I also run a Spallpuller fan.The Engine bay is tight and would like a shroud but am very limited.I am running a 160 thermostat should I bump that up to 180 or 195.Does that make a differance in the cooling?

    In my opinion YES ...

With the 160 thermostat ... it opens at around 160 and is like not ever having a thermostat ... after the engine warms up enough to open the thermostat. Most engines run better at 180 or 195. 160 does not get the condensation out of the oil but 180/195 does. Oil works better at 180/195 also and extends engine life.

On my 32 ... with a 195 thermostat ... I see the temperature gauge move ... from startup ... It will go the 195 and then fall back ... to 165 or so ... then go the 195 and then fall back to 180 or so ... then go to 195 and fall back to 190 or so. Then it will hover at 190 to 195 ... on the thermostat. The 195 thermostat closes and keeps the water in the radiator ... allowing it to cool down. The gauge falls back slightly ( after the engine is fully warmed up ) because the cooler fluid from the radiator comes into the engine ... and the thermostat closes. When the fluid is 195 or so ... the thermostat opens and allows the 195 fluid out and lets the cooler fluid from the radiator in .

It cycles like this ... for the duration of the trip.

    Just my opinion ... :)

It seems to be logical enough.I like the theory behind it,will go for a 195 hi flow and see what happens.Thanks.:D

I have been running a Walker Z Series for about 5-6 years in my Deuce 3w Coupe with built flatmotor.......I have 160 Thermostats in it and I have NEVER had any kind of overheating problem.......I run an electric fan pulling behind the Walker.........a great product if a bit pricey......as I recall I paid over $600 for it back then.......but I am glad I bought it.....it is a superb radiator......I highly recommend it....

Thanks Randy and Danny for the good words. Yes we do sell Walker, yes we do try to have the cheapest prices on the rads, yes we do order them as ordered by the customer( Walker delivers in 2 - 3 days tops to us). We have had problems in the past with some of our employees, just like all companies, but we have been and continue to try and improve every day.I'll be glad to help whoever whenever. If I am busy leave a message and I or one of the salesman guys will call back.
$575 for the z series add $100 for the ac condensor if so inclined. Not meant to hijack the thread or advertise just thought I would let the HAMB'ers know one option and one price. Thanks

Actually, it's the opposite. First, your thermostat is closed, allowing your engine to warm up, to 195 in your case. When you get to that point, it opens to let the coolant flow through the radiator so that the coolant gets cooler and can cool the engine down.
