Has anyone installed a radio form cl***iccarstereo.com for a 1953 ford? I would like a review on performance and installation. Do they require any modification? Any feedback would be appreciated.

I have used the Custom Auto Sound units. I used the first one in the late 90s, it was “ok”. I currently have a hidden Secret Audio unit in my 1940 Ford and it has worked well for 15 years. I have one for my 55 Sunliner but have not yet used it. I would buy another.

I didn't like the one I had in my 56. I broke the knob shaft, bumped it with my knee. My car set in the garage for about a year and the radio never worked again.
    I wouldn't recommend them.

bought one for a buddy's Chevelle. lasted about a year(right after warranty expired)
lost the computer "logic" - station ****ons controlling volume, etc. - they are a little in the cheaper(construction) side as far as quality.
trouble is , can't find any other source that fits OEM "hole"

Not for a traditional look, but don't forget marine radios have a much wider selection available as far as colors , styles, remote units, etc. I first saw that round one Black Wagoon posted a pic of in the marine section, Ebay, just poke in marine radios. Standard marine radios are the same as automotive.......12v., single din, double din, etc. They just have added features car radios don't have, like weatherproofing, weather bands, etc.

This seems pretty trick. Looks like its a fairly new conversion kit that uses your stock radio. Runs about $600 for the full 180W/ Digital FM/ USB/Bluetooth/Speaker Phone package (plus your radio), which seems kinda expensive, but it's pretty much on par with cl***iccarstero but with a better looking, more durable, and better functioning unit. Check it out. Seems like Dealer pricing varies quite a bit from the couple of guys I've pinged.
