OK my 1st trip to Bakersfield in Oct got 10 days starting with Pomona whats about 13th to 23rd

 

Go to Zingo's on Buck Owens Blvd for a meal, nothing fancy but some older rodders have breakfast there.

I recommend the Road House Grill on Rosedale for the bison ribs. You will instantly be hooked for life! Have lived here all my 69 years, great conservative outpost in the wilderness of the most Progressive state in the union. Kern county is the #1 oil producing county in the lower 48 states, #2 agriculture county in the nation just a tad behind Fresno just up HWY 99 an hour or so. Oh, and if you have the time you need to have dinner at one of our many Basque restraints; Wool Growers, Pyrenees, Noriega Hotel, Narducci's, Saqndrini's, Chalet Basque, Benji's.

 

And breakfast at Donna K's on Oak street, mmm, steak and eggs, taters and salsa.
Was our tradition for years when venturing south for the CHRR.

And if you want the cholesterol special that is really great, Pappy's on Rosedale makes the best breakfast in town. And very near that is Casa Mexico, a hole in the wall that makes the absolute best Mexican cuisine in town.

 

Milts (Olive dr.) is the racers hangout, If the wait is too long, walk across the street to Hodels for an incredable all you can eat buffet for $9. For dinner ($$) KC's Steakhouse, has the 60's bar and grill flare

Make a reservation and do the San Sylmar tour at the Nethercutt Collection, in Sylmar. One of the finest automotive museums in the world. Trust me on this, you'll be glad, if you go.

 

Visit the Galpin Auto Sports museum. Lots of fun specialty cars plus probably the biggest collection of Ed Roth cars in the world.
