ALL...53 and newer Studebakers (cars) are 5 lug.
    4-1/2" x 5 pattern.
The model and or engine/transmission combination do not make a difference.
Many do...have different brake drum "diameters", that's just additional information since you didn't ask that question.

    • There are some models of the post war Big Studebaker (Land Cruiser...’48 to ‘50 ....and maybe Commander) that had 5 lug 5” bolt circle. Not common now, but does exist. Otherwise I agree with what has been posted.

Mike and Ray, thanks for the replies. I have a friend who is in the process of a long distance purchase of a 53 coupe and didn't know the exact model, it will require tires and wheels for transport.

Are they left and right handed lug nuts or are they lug bolts ? Something to think about, I honestly don't remember what it was when we dismantled a 57 last year.

There are both left hand and right hand threads on those Stude studs. The Champions (I have a 53 Champ coupe) were the weak sister with a Dana 27 rear axle instead of the stouter Dana 44 unit, the trans is less robust and the brakes are smaller than the Commanders. I resolved that issue by buying a 58 and 59 Hawk, both v8 cars to get a heavier frame/brakes/differential etc. Unless the car has been stored in a desert hideaway you will get to be a close friend of Studebaker International and Cl***ic Enterprises. Join the Studebaker Drivers Club also, sort of like a smaller Jalopy Journal for Studebaker nuts.

Marty - you could ask over on the forums of the Studebaker Drivers Club or Racing Studebakers....

Thanks, I think the consensus is that all Studes after 1950, were 5 lug.

They won't clear the calipers though.

Also, it might not matter - but modern Mopar and Ford wheels will fit on many Studebakers....
