I have a 1959 292 that I am in the process of adding some performance parts to. When I went to remove the oil pan I noticed that the head of the drain bolt is pretty well rounded off. I've been searching for a new one, but can't seem to find the correct plug. The only ones i can find show a 1/2-20, but the threads on my drain plug are significantly larger. Any ideas?

It doesn't appear to be an oversized plug. Both of the y blocks I own have this giant plug.

CASCO's catalog show oil pan plugs in two sizes - 7/8 (55-56) and 1/2 (57). They also show an oversize one for both sizes, I don't know what that means. Gaskets shown also.
I would ***ume that a 59 would have the smaller size, but your car may have an earlier pan

Interesting, I must have the earlier pans on both my '59 y block and my '62. Looks like Mac's has the one I need, but it must not have come up searching for those years. Thanks for the ***istance.

I'd buy from CASCO before buying from Mac's
