This auction has some old cars/parts and lots of vintage construction/farm equipment. But, the main reason I am posting this is the gas station building that is one of the coolest things I have ever seen. Lots of pics. Check it out!

Yup, that gas station would be a nice item. Not very big to not take up to much room!

Has anybody ever seen a gas station building like that sell before? Any idea what it may bring?

Last pic is a 1960 Edsel. Lots of really cool old stuff there. The old farm equipment is fascinating. Hope there's enough collectors/bidders in Iowa to keep any it from going to the s****pers.

Nothing that exciting - One of my friends on the Warbird Information Exchange forum IDed it as a six-cylinder Ranger L-440, used mostly to power small PT-19 and PT-26 primary trainers. Highest output was 200 hp. IIRC a few of them were used in dry lakes racers postwar.

Service station is the star of the sale as far as I am concerned. I wonder how much it would cost to truck to Ca.?

Sadly, a lot of the ag and industrial stuff will go to s**** because the market for pieces that age has gone to heck... unless it is something particularly rare.

Personally, I'd also love to have that great big old metal shear. But, nowhere to put it.

If anyone wants another station building like that there is one a couple miles west of Grundy Center Iowa on Highway 14. Used to be on the north side of town but was moved to a farm a few years ago.

Really!? That was a metal building? It sure looked like it was block. Somebody must have done a good job of painting it.

Be there in person. I don't think they do any online bidding. But, I've been wrong before.

I’ll be there. Just a quick 3-1/2 hour drive one way. Can’t buy the cool **** sitting around waiting. Gotta go get it.

Interesting how looking through the photos you get a sense of the guys life. must have been a hard worker with a lot of MacGyver in his blood.

Thanks for the update, especially since the auction company deleted everything right away. I'm guessing the cop car '58 was a 283/stick?
Any word on what the Ranger airplane engine went for?
