Cant decide to run skirts or not, mine will be a wide white wall, lowered, non chopped 1948 Ford Kustom coupe. This will be scary me asking for you opinion also ..LOL

  7. If the rear is lower than the front - skirts

If the front is lower than the rear - no skirts

The rule I grew up with was "real customs don't have rear tires." That said I think part of the decision should be based on the theme you are using for the build. I built my 48 Ford to be a 50s era custom, the type I would have had in high school if I could have afford one. Consequently I wanted to use many of the accessories that were common for that time period.
I also feel that skirts give a car a smooth flow from front to back. Your eye follows the flow of the car rather then stopping at each wheel.

Is that what gave the idea to skirt the front of that Lincoln?

When I was 16 I owned a 47 Ford coupe that came with skirts when I bought it and didn't realize they looked like shit. Had a 46 Ford convertible for many years and skirts were the last thing I'd put on it. The only skirts I like are short ones worn by good looking ladies. Go to post #6 and see how good that 46 convertible looks without skirts. Just my opinion. Your entitled to yours.

As with anything else, it's a matter of opinion and you know the old saying about opinions. :)

Short door or long door? Nose up? We need to know!! Haha! Either way nose down no skirt, nose up skirt is OK but not necessary. I have one of each haha! Screenshot_20220820-082033_Chrome.jpg Screenshot_20220820-081903_Chrome.jpg

Usually I don’t like skirts but occasionally I think they are beautiful and I don’t even know why. Just fell in love with this picture.
