She is slowly being nursed back to health. someone did not take care of her very well.

ponch was given to me by 3rd party who had for a year untouched.

Someone has to have seen this ride around before.

can't imagine this vehicle was that obscure?

also, where is a good place to find replacement parts other than the local bone yard.

    Any help would be appreciated

i know a couple of local builders went to the Home Depot ( or similar store) and bought out the 'drawer pull' section for thier grills..

I believe Tag Man was one for his 55 Buick..
Just look in the section that has handles for cabinets, drawers etc..

Not to hi-jack...I got mine from Home Depot...Just go check out the knobs/handles and pick out wich ever ones appeal to you...Its fun to stand there and daze off trying to invision what 60 (or maybe even more...) of the same knobs would look like in a grill opening then trying to explain it to there 'hired help'....

hey also try target. i saw some there last weekend in the drawer knob section. they are on blister packs. i forget the count how many there are per package but they are cheap. most people don't buy them because they look to plain. hope this helps.

Got the bullet-shaped ones (count 'em - 126 of the ****ers) on my '55 from Ebay. If I bought 'em at one of the Home Centers, the freakin' grill would be worth more than the car !!!!
Plans are for the stock grill they're bolted to, to be painted flat black.....when I feel like taking 'em all of and putting 'em back on again.

Car looks like it was done in the early sixties, due to the rolled pan. A tube grille would look right too. Please post pics of the rear treatment. Do you know if it's an Arizona car? Looks like a Dean Jefferies build to me. Small pleats in the interior? What does the original color appear to be, not the Pontiac color, the custom one? I can see it with chromies with flat baby moons on PolyGlas Wide Ovals, a dark metalic color and 1" pleated tuck & roll. It would have been right in style in '60-'62.

Check out the evil auction site for cabinet knobs. Much larger selection than the big box places. Some unique stuff at a fraction of the big box price. I found this out when I remodeled my kitchen. Got some very cool deco pulls for .69 each that I never saw anywhere else.

Looks to me like that grille opening was made to fit like a 56 Vette grille. Which of course would look too cool.

Actually, your right. the 56 grill was just located in a crate of stuff the was just given to me by the previous owner two months ago. way after the original post about the grill. i am undecided what to do. we are at the drawing board stage. shop is finished, refrigerator is cold and filled with beer. just need the friends and elbow grease.

I still would love to find the builder of this ride. to many mods to be a nobody in the scene. belive the car was built in Az. it has a 56 packard tailend with a nasty looking continental kit molded in.

Check out a local fab shop or ornamental iron works for a piece of expanded metal to use for the grille mesh. It comes in different sized holes and hole patterns. Then you can cut to fit and attach with some tabs welded to the perimeter. There will be plenty of holes to lay out your drawer pulls in any arrangement you desire.
