who's going and is there going to be a hamb meet-up spot. i might even go inside this year...........i just go to the swap part most of the time.
I'll be there at So Cal Speed Shop all day on Friday, and in the Roadster Show with my CA pal 1955Hemi in his Deuce roadster....light gray car with red wheels and a killer DeSoto Hemi with 4 Stromberg 97's......look for us..... I'll also be at El Mirage on June 11th for the dry lakes trials......look at my web site to see me and my pals..... Brucie
With a daughter living in LA I should get out there for the first time. Sure would be a great Fathers Day gift to myself.
I plan on going to the speed shop openhouse with my 36 3-win. I'll be at the roadster show on saturday. One of the best shows of the year. I'll have on an OLE surfboards shirt.
If you have never been - - GO. Does not matter if you have a roadster or not. They have special parking for non-roadster drivers. If you go, you will enjoy it. Spend the entire weekend. If you get there early, El Mirage is the weekend before. Do the tourist thing 4-5 days in between. If you are a car person, this is something you need to experience.
If anyone has never been to the So Cal open house on friday you should go, it is only a few miles from the LA show it is awesome.
The HAMB spot of years past was at the big tree at noon on Saturday. If you've never been to the show, that info is of no use to you. I will have a swap space there. Look for a doofus with a camo army hat that says HAMB on the front.
Be there Fri-Sun. Do the So-Cal thing it's worth the time. I spend most of Sat at the swap meet and Sunday looking at cars. Been going for about 11-12 years. I'll be the one in the old faded roadster shirt. HA
I'm driving the blue roadster there from MN (after I drive to York and Indy). Will be at SoCal on Friday, both days at show. I'll be driving a "hotwheels" blue deuce with a red interior and Minnesota plates. It's a great time, awesome swap meet and unreal car show. The parking lot show is out of sight!
Go because the the long haulers from Texas (power tour) are going to meet there this year. Should be a great show of cars. One day they will have to let the unpainted cars in, and not make them park outside. I go every year. jughead26
Great show ... I drove in with my 32 a few years ago from South Carolina ...and the So-Cal Speed Shop party was great too ... get there early ... as it fills up quick ... Good flea market too ... Wish it was not 2500 miles 1 way ... or I would be there every year .
You could drive the Deuce here one time and leave it and come visit it every year, I will take care of it and honest I will not drive it. Look at the gas you would save it is cheaper to fly.
THANKS ... for the offer ... The roadster was in Chino California ... for many years ... prior to it coming to South Carolina ... I talked to the guy who owned before WWII ... until 1964 ... I called his number last time I was out there ... phone disconnected ... He would be 84 years old now ... if he is still with us ... I guess he has passed ...
I've been going for years, but this will be the first time with a car.I'll be in the '49 shoebox and i'll try to get my buddy to bring his shoebox.I can only go saturday though.I like the swap meet and the cars outside, inside is almost always the same cars.I'd rather check out the projects.
i dunno if i want to be so obvious as to wear my hamb shirt or under cover with the elrods "genuine junk yard parts". by the way where the hell is the "big" tree.....i tried last year to find it.....there are alot of big trees there.
I'll be there selling some stuff in the swap meet. It's one of my favorite meets, I've only missed one in the last 25 years. Even though it's generally a high priced swap meet there are always bargains to be found. I have a complete floorpan for a 34 Ford for sale if someone wants it delivered there, PM me.
I've been there every year for the last 6-7 and I don't know about *the big tree* either.......is it in the swap area or the roadster field?? Last year we parked under a pretty big tree right behind the food vendors in the roadster area?????? Did we miss the meeting???? Please advise, somebody......thanks... Brucie
Anyone know if one has to arrive early and stay all day if you bring a roadster into the show...can you come at 10, hang out for a few hours, then leave? Some shows lock the gates. There is also a show on Sunday in Beverly Hills..."Concours on Rodeo" for the wine and cheese/Gucci loafer person in you.
I'll be there maroon 33 Ford roadster, fenders, bumpers and Halibrand wheels. So Cal fri. Roadster show sat. maybe sun. Looking for insight on HR/GRs and the HAMB Drags. CR
I'm guessing the big tree is roughly the 2nd or 3rd aisle from the train. That's the only aisle with a tree line. We'll be there cooking up some carne and drinking beer. Look for my 50 Chevy convertible. Here's a pic my buddy John took at last weekends Kustom Kulture show... http://www.suede37.com/images/2006/kustmkultr/pages/DSC_7067.htm
ill be there, in my 57 pontiac.... and my buddy should be driving a 37 ford pickem up. if you see us say hello!
