I'm going to be stuck in Cali for almost the entire month of July thru August for work...I'm leaving Detroit on the 12th of July, and may possibly be out there until August 5th. I'm scheduled to be based out of Anaheim the entire time. I will have a local resident to help out with local attractions, so I'm set there. BUT,
I'm wondering if anyone has any info on cruises/shows going on reletively close by so I can occupy my nights and weekends while I'm there. I'll have a rental car at my disposal.

I've never been West of the Mississippi, so this should be interresting :)

    Thanks ahead of time!

sorry you will be "stuck here" for 6-8 weeks. my heart goes out to you. i know nothing beats 95-100 degree temps with 90-100 percent humidity you get back home but try to enjoy yourself. it will be tough.
anyway, try the socalculture site post earlier.
the doughnut derilicts in huntington beach is bitchin on saturday morns.
if you can swing by redondo beach on a friday night, we have a cruise night at ruby's diner just north of the redondo beach pier from 4 to 8 and there is usually a 100-150 car turnout every friday with some good people. it will be about 25 miles thru l.a. traffic from anahiem which is equal to about 75 miles in anybody elses traffic. take a deep breath and let the asshole cut in in front of you, cause he's going to anyways. you get used to it.
if you are really interested in attending, send a pm and i will give you exact info and directions.

    later dude

Thanks man, I appreciate the info.

I won't miss the Michigan weather at that time, I WILL miss my dog and upkeep on my yard...that I have to pay someone for...that's the part I won't like...oh, and being away from my girl :)

Don't get me wrong, I've always wanted to come to Cali, but I'd rather it have been on MY terms, and not the company's.

    Again, thanks!

You can go to the BEST car guy car show every Saturday morning between 6AM and no one's left there at all by 9AM with Donut Derelicts on the corner of Adams and Magnolia in Huntington Beach. That's just a short ways closer to the Pacific Ocean from Anahiem.
Also, look up things to do all over the Nation here: http://www.driveonline.com/html/west.html

Every Friday night Main Street in Garden Grove. New guy taken over the show and should be great. I will be driven a 1947 Fleetline Aerosedan Pro Street. Look for the Piss & moaners car club. We love to have you there.

I would definitely recommend Donut Derelicts... Also, Brand Blvd. car show 5-9 in Glendale on Brand Blvd. July 15th, Blessing of the Cars July 29th...
Good luck and have fun while you're "stuck here".

MoonEyes will be having it's annual BBQ show on the 15th. www.mooneyes.com. More info if ya need it and directions too. Bob's in Tuluca Lake is always a Fri. thing to do and it is always packed. Ya got to get there around 5'ish if ya want to take pics before the sun goes down. And yes, the "Blessin Of The Cars" at the good 'ol Hanson Dam. Mind you, it will be friggin hot as usual if ya can stand the heat. Hope that is enough for ya to do during yer stay here. KNUX!
