Still working on the Model A Project, sometime I think it should be called the For Ever Project. Finally have the engine close to completion, need Manifold and Carbs. I'm running a SBF (289) with a Tremec 5 speed trans. I'm trying to stay "somewhat traditional" with this build which is my first attempt. I would like to run tri-power which is also a first for me. I plan to use Edelbrock Intake along with Strongburg 97's or the Speedway Supper 7's. Then I was reading about someone providing new 94's. I would sure like to hear from some of you tri-power experts and give me some ideal what carb set up works best.

Any pictures of your car/build? I have a 28 A, that I would like to put a 289 into with the T5 World Cl*** 5 speed. What did you use for a bell housing, clutch? I have a line on a 1993 Mustang HO project care with that transmission. I know it uses a 4 link rear, but am thinking what it would take to graft it to the A..... Your thoughts and pictures of your build would be good to hear and see.

Hi Marty sorry for not responding l failed to check my post. I will try to upload a few pictures as you requested. I'm still working on ch***is, engine is complete less flywheel clutch and pressure plate. As for the transmission I had a Mustang T5 but had to change the tail shaft to S10 to move shift point forward. This is my first build so lots of mistakes and learning along the way. Bell housing is aluminum 10.5" 157 tooth flywheel with Ram hydraulic throw out bearings. 20170618_131056.jpg 20170617_142908.jpg 20170618_131056.jpg 20170617_142908.jpg

    REREAVES,
Thanks so much for posting pictures. Before I go down the same rabbit hole, what would you do differently so far?
I would like to do a traditional looking front suspenction with hair pin radius rods and Superbell dropped front axle, disc brakes. and a steering box from Unisteer
The rear I am going to get the Ford Explorer 8.8 limited slip, with or without discs. Don't think I mind which gear ratio as they are pretty close. Thinking hair pins for the rear with a panhard bar (Opinions please). I'd like to lower the back as well. Perhaps Posey springs front and rear.

I have a World T5 transmission. Came out of a 1993 Mustang. Have bellhousing clutch and driveshaft from the car. May keep the seats out of the Mustang and do away with the head rest to keep the seat a little more traditional looking.

Hi Marty? Difficult question since this is my first build. If you're set on tradition and have not built ch***is you might want to think about wishbones vs. Hairpins? Having said that I have never driven a hairpins or wishbone set ups. I like sbf but it is alot more expensive than sbc. I really like my ch***is but wish I had shopped for a better body to start with. My body is very good now but it took more than I thought to get to this point. Nothing wrong with your rear end to my knowledge I'm using a 9" but I purchased new. Transmission should be fine, may have to change tail shaft depending on shift point. This project has taken a lot longer than I thought and has cost equally more than I thought. I would not trade the fun and experience for anything, GOOD LUCK. please post some pictures of your project
