If I put a '32 grill on my '36 will it make it a '32. Just don't understand the attraction.

Depending on the style of the car a Deuce grille can work on a Model T or A but personally I never cared for them when used on a channeled ‘33-‘34.
The attraction for me and countless others is the slightly streamlined, pleasing look of the ‘32 grille surround.
Sebastian Rubbo put a 1937 Ford pickup grille on his ‘36 Ford roadster, just another example of different strokes for different folks. Nobody expects anybody else to understand their personal likes or dislikes.

I'm a grille shell whore. I currently have 13, 5 on deuces and 8 on the wall. Told my wife when I die she can pay for my funeral with deuce shell wall hangers.

I put one on my '34 coupe. Loved the look of my buddy's '34 that he's had since the 50's.

Finally got 32 grill mounted up on the A Sedan...great fit, lotta work. Will be the closest thing to a Deuce I’ll ever own. 96B70603-7D1A-44F2-8106-F522CE249154.jpeg 115D2643-8984-428E-ACBC-1B7F13A5057B.jpeg

  21. Here's a different style insert. I changed out but still kept it. 1930-Ford-Model%20A-Hot%20Rods%20%26%20Customs--Car-100968633-1201d4009baec023f6d1784407307d66.jpeg 1930-Ford-Model%20A-Hot%20Rods%20%26%20Customs--Car-100968633-1202c5a4adb075ad44d4dfa3075a4a86.jpeg IMG_20180423_184450.jpeg IMG_20180729_195825.jpeg

    Hello,

The 32 grille shell was just something to add on to many types of hot rods for the street. They were also put on drag race cars and roadsters. H.R. Harrell was one of the first in drag racing and set plenty of records in the roadster class throughout his roadster days. The red roadster was at Lions throughout the 59-60 era and I was able to get film on the cool, drag racing roadster.

I probably knew the name 59 years ago when I was filming as a teenager and blurted it out when we watched the 16mm color film on a big projection screen. But, over the years, since we did not write the names down, it was lost until contacting Harrell Engines in So Cal, recently.

The asterisk on this red roadster was that Willie Borsch was one of the drivers before the “Winged Express” hit the strips.

upload_2018-10-23_3-46-2.png But, it is the 8 carbs, 8 hoses, one gas inlet bar and a longer tuning procedure to get it right. And, they got it right !!! This is one, fast moving 29 roadster from Harrell Engines. (8? On our 40 Willys, we thought 6 Strombergs were a lot of carbs...)
