I don't think that Radir offers radial tires. They at M/T bias cheater slicks. Hurst offers both recapped radials and bias. I think Coker offers both, but I"m not sure.

So, what you plan on running up front may be a decider for you.

Here are a couple of things I know from first hand experience. I'm not going to get into the debate of which is best, just experience from myself and close friends.

My and DW both have Radirs on our coupes. We've done many burnouts and put miles on the cars and the tires have held up fine. Both of us have the Radirs as our regular tires, though I have some treaded "rain" tires that I throw on every once in a blue moon.

We both run Radirs on the back and radials on the front. A big no-no by most reports. I can say that I can't tell the difference in handling between my radial "rain" tires and the bias slicks. He would have to report on what he thinks, but he didn't change back to his bias fronts, if that may tell you something.

We did an experiment with Crease at the Day of the Drags this October. He made several p***es with his Hurst recaps on the back of his '33. We switched to the Radirs and it hooked up better first p*** out. (We did some other changes that I think helped his mph, but I think the tires made the difference in his 60 ft.) Maybe he can track down the time slips.

I'm not saying that Radirs are good and the Hursts are bad by any means. A bunch of guys on here have had great performance with Hursts. Just relaying some info. that I have found about the Radirs.

I think the shop dog ate the time slips, but I can say without a doubt that on that day, after one p***, I was ready to invest in some Radirs. My 33 had NEVER hooked up period, until we put Buzzard's Radir's on. As I said previously, my Hurts have served me well and held up nicely. Perhaps a brand new set of Hursts may perform equally well on my car in similar conditions, who knows?

As an option, I couldn't afford some big 3" white walls so I went in to pep boys and got some cheapo 3/4" whites. They are at least 1/2 as cool for 1/3 the price. I figure that with that ratio your ahead of the game.

just bought brand new set of coker radials l78 wide whites and they are total junk. had two tire shops balance the tires and they both said they are 3/4 inch out of round. they shimmy above 65 mph and shake bad at 80. ill never buy another coker tire, i drove the car out 40 miles to see if they would straighten out and not a chance. they are on my 55 chrysler, im looking at dimondbacks for my 52 studebaker now.

Did you contact Coker for product support?
