After a week of HELL with my truck i didn't think i was going to make the show.. Actually, i was so pissed at it i didn't even care if i went...BUT, with some coaxing from Big Chief i decided to make the trip .....and i'm glad he did that..we had a blast! The trip down was rain filled for more than 3/4 of the trip..even hail at time's..which made for a very interesting ride, especially for one of the guy's who was driving a roadster, with NO top..but we kept it up beat and had a good time. The ride home was interesting in itself.. Pa was great. Sunshine and blue skies in the beginning.. But as soon as we crossed the NY state line we had CRAZY wind and rain until we pulled in the driveway. The wind was actually pushing the cars into the other lanes..it was good to be home. Then there was saturday at the show....perfect was the only way to describe it! Here's a bunch of pics i took of the trip and the show.. Got to meet some new HAMBers this year like coupedevil, Flt-blk, Bob K, FEo2 and a few others, along with some we've met before.. Alway's a pleasure hangin out with you all! Caffeine brought out the 'Douchbag' shirts for the second annual meeting.. and Junior gave the sheep a break this year to bring out Fatty Patty and introduce her to the Douchebags..too bad he blew off her leg on friday night! But she was back for more punishment on sat thanks to some "racer tape" Haha Flt-Blk has a KILLER truck and is a real cool guy!! thanks for the beer man..i have a feeling he might want to build a 76 malibu wagon now...maybe with hydro's.. i'll have to ask him Bob K, VERY nice to meet you and ******** for a while, AWESOME car!! Denise's cookies were DAMN good as ussual, and Rudy just has to much fun playin in the mud! Tokyo, good talkin with ya again.. Spikes a douchebag! Hahaha Larry (and crew), thanks once again for a great show!! here's the pics.. Tony. the show: NICE car Zach! more to come..hang on.
...... the trip...... we had 9 cars which made for a real cool trip. as we waited for everyone to finish g***in' up, we noticed Jay had parked right over a man hole cover..... there's a reason for the skid plate.. more yet.
Looks like Denise is STILL having trouble keeping her hubcaps on...and Flt-Blk was there...wow...long trip, eh? Even BobK...do you ever stay home Bob? Thanx for the pix... R-
And now for the nonsence.....Ahh yes, and fatty patty.. alcohol makes you do StRaNgE thing's!! MAD DOG body shots! well, kinda body shots Sick individuals! thats all folks! Tony
Tony, it was GREAT seeing you again and having the opportunity to catch up. My hats off to you cruz the distance you do in that truck. Everytime I started to feel alittle sorry for myself cuz of the ****py weather and very high winds yesterday on the way home I just keep thinking of you and saying to myself..."well at least I can stretch out my legs and get comfortable unlike Tony, Tyler and Mark". You've got some great shots there. Thanks so much for sharing. Looking forward to seeing you in Syracuse and hanging out somemore.
I'm having major issues finding one that will stay on that wheel. Sawzall just gave me two more at the Showdown to see if either of them will work. Keep your fingers crossed.
Dude, your post made me sad. I was doing good until this one. Looks like I missed a hell of a time.... I the 750ml bottle of Captain's I had bought for the trip on Friday night and toasted the Douchebags on several of my drinks..
It's about 40" high give or take a little..But VERY well thought out and built. Jesse and his wife drove down with us and i can say for a fact that it IS a damn well built ride and a real driver. At one point he and i were talking about the low cars guy's are building, and i mentioned how so many are built purely for the shock factor.. I spent a good amount of time looking over his T, and i liked what i saw. A car that has that crazy low look, but in my oppinion was obviously not thrown together even though it had the rough edges that may lead you to believe..very cool car. Boones, you WERE missed bro!! It wasn't the same without you, Dirty and Evel there i can ***ure you that.. Next year man....it's on! Denise, as always a pleasure hangin out with you. Looking forward to 'Cuse myself..we'll all have a good time for sure! REALLY glad you guy's were able to drive the cars back home and that noise wasn't anything serious..that alone made my weekend As far as not being able to stretch my legs....the only savior i had this trip was a couple cars had real small gas tanks, so frequent gas stops were in order.. it allowed me to get out and walk around a little. I have been getting thing's in order to build my deuce 5 window, maybe, just maybe i can haveit on the road by next year and i'll actually have a comfy ride down for once .. Jt...too bad we didn't know that then..i might have been able to divert the crew to check it out.. maybe next year...then again, You'll have it at the show for me to see i hope Tony
Tony it was great to finally meet you and see your truck in person. I don't think the campground antics were that far out of line, doesn't everyone act like that??? Maybe that's why I felt at home there.
Jalopy Showdown at the Latimore Fairgrounds, about 100 miles west of Philadelphia. Scary Larry is the organizer. Tony, good to meet you. I was the guy hanging out with Tokyo.
Missed a good time...AGAIN! Is that T coupe the same one that was running around Syracuse last year in the driving rain with no top?
Cool pics, Talked to markx yesterday at Canton. He filled me in on all the fun. Looks like I am gonna have to make a trip.
Cool pics, but whats the deal with the 'Mud Bog'look on some of the hot rods?that one rod has more mud on it than my cousins 84 Dodge Ram on 44 inch boggers through some Okeechobee swamp muck.is it something part of the trad. scene?myself i don't like it as it seems like your just ****ing up your rod.
Nope, but am more a drag racer,g***er fan than your reg hot rod guy so i was curious as to why folks muddy up thier rods '**** that sounds digusting'.Don't get me wrong the rough round the edges type of hot ord and drag car is much more to my liking but mud bogging'which i have done and do from time to time out here in South Fl.'your hot rod of which parts were most likely hard to find seems a hair messed up to me but you know what they say bout opinions.
My ****ed up hot rod (it washes off...the fun stays with you, right Clark?) Click the link at the bottom of my post if you want to know what it is about..
Man looks like ya'll had a hell of a good time. It's going to be hard to beat. The last time I was in PA. was in about 1988 or so. It's a beautiful place to cruise. Thanks for the pics.
Aint nothin more than havin fun.. And i have to say, this show is the MOST fun i've had with my hot rod.. I'm sure there are some other folk's that agree
Hotrod60....here's a couple of pics for you. It's all about flogging your car around an old dirt track, throwing the car sideways in the mud and laughing about it. Each year we see guys that we would never expect to go out there having a blast on the track. Clark
Ah hell ,guess its the gold chainer creeping up outta me.i mean i'm such a hipocryte me having a dented primered hot rodded AMC Gremlin and a brick red faded 60 F100 i guess yer right,Its all bout having fun and the **** washes off.its not spending eternity on a trailer and going to some ***gety car show with a stuffed crying baby on each tire
