Hi does anyone have a link or has anyone done a 351w and aod swap into a 53 ford Victoria?
I had it mocked up with a c6 transmission then changed over to an AOD. I am using the butches cool stuff motor mount kit. My problem is that the AOD is really tight in the transmission tunnel. Do I have to cut and expand the tunnel?

Here are some pictures of how I have it set up. The notch in the crossmember was already cut when I bought the car and they did a horrible job. I was lucky to get it looking decent hahaha 59EEE7E1-9CB8-486C-8245-EDF99FA150CB.jpeg D053942B-24E8-4761-B199-970B550110B9.jpeg C9258E85-6CF7-4A6C-92A3-503D4140FC3E.jpeg

I think Jeff helped someone maybe in Canada with this . I seem to recall pics of the floor cut out. Not sure how to find it but if you wait till after mid nite I'm sure he'll respond.

Made a little bit of progress last night. I cut the tunnel ( I didn’t have to cut much) and drilled out the holes for the transmission mount. Everything is back in. Now i just need to make the plate to cover it back up. CA166F08-85B6-406F-9E99-D9BA982FDF5B.jpeg 4F42F081-817C-475D-A401-AE90733FDADD.jpeg B17DFCFE-897F-4DFF-A881-0ACB0BD5967E.jpeg

I'm doing the exact same swap in a 56 town sedan, the butch's cool stuff kit worked great, the issue
I'm having is the oil pan hitting the cross member. This is my first project on a car this old so it's new territory for me, could someone please post a pic or send me of the correct pan to use? BTW my engine is a 1988 351w. thanks a bunch.

    .

You need a front sump pan and pickup like the link below. Being an 88 yours probably looks nothing like that.

I don't know that Summit is the right place to go for this pan, note the answers from these Summit Reps https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-g3539/questionsanswers/#qa-display-detail One says it fits a late model one piece main seal the other says it does not also one claims the oil pump pickup is the same and just like the 302.5.0 they are not the same. :( The correct oil pump pick up for a 351W with a front sump is a Melling 83-S Should be an in stock item at Autozone

I attached the link for a visual view of the pan he needs. A lot of aftermarket pans don't fit for **** so one thing about Summit is they have a lot of reviews so you can hopefully make a better decision. They have an easy return policy if there is a problem as well. If you get a new pan I would take it out and check fitment on the block to make sure it's square and all the holes line up before any modifications or painting etc. Also, a one piece rear main seal has nothing to do with the oil pan, the seal goes in the block and rear main cap.

According to the Melling website 1988 is the same M-83 pump as a 1969 so just the correct pickup should be all that is needed.

I'm sure someone has already asked this question, but I'm not sure where to look for the info.
I'm doing the 351 windsor, AOD swap into a 56 town sedan, engine is out of an 88 F150, but the guy I bought the engine from lost the power steering pump brackets, I do want to keep the serpentine belt setup, any thoughts on where to get replacements, or suggestions for upgrades that won't break the bank?

Best bet is probably your local Pick-A-Part that way you can be sure you get the right stuff from a similar F150.

  17. i have a 351w and AOD but in a 55. with the stock style exhaust manifolds it's tight. I'm not sure if the Butch's mounts puts the engine in a different spot than mine. i had to go with the slimmest drivers side manifold that i could find and it just barely clears the steering box.

at the moment I'm planning on doing the power rack and pinion set up, so I'm hoping that will save a little space. The pitfalls of cool projects. lol I also have a pair of block hugger headers to try.
