Year and model '39-'48 Ford, cars and pickups; also, '48-'52 F1 pickups, '53-'56 F100; Some International pickups also used this size tie rod end. Thread size is *11/16"-18*, not a 'standard', but listed as 'Popular Special', in case you are interested in ordering a tap. (taps are available from Speedway Motors, both left and right hand thread)
Glad I asked, as I ***umed 37 ford. Pray tell, is there a modern tre that fits the taper available right and left, that is a sealed unit? I think I bought jeepbegore, but the pin was too long
Also were 11/16 18 half nuts use on anything stock Also what is the spindle nut size 3/4 18? I can't find them on rock
I don’t think there is an application that you will find that size half nut used on, your best bet might be to source them from Speedway Motors. If you have access to the RH and LH taps you could drill 5/8-18 nuts and re-tap them but given your location that may not it be an option. The thread on early Ford spindles is 3/4-16.
Do I need to use a castleated nut, or van I use a plain nut with the wavy washer for the split pin, i.e. stock spindle nut and crimckly tab, with flat key washer, grom a 74 charger --_ does matter,
Yes, you can use that nut and locking ***embly. The OD of the washer may need to be reduced as it is larger than the original Ford washer, but that will depend on the rotor and/or hub you will be using.
I would recommend that you use a castle nut and cotter pin or safety wire on any steering component. The factories do it that way foe a good reason!
