My sweetheart Claudia, from Once upon a Time in the West. Now I'll be whistling that song all night.

My question is why you called a Starliner a bubble top?[/QUOTE]
To screw with some hambers... nothing else.. but in 1961 nothing was a "bubble" top no matter what goggle says.

I don't know for sure where it started but I never heard the term "bubbletop" used until the Wall Street musclecar whores started speculating on the value of 62 409 BelAir hardtops.

Here's my take on this so-called "bubbletop" controversy In 1961, there were 2-door sedans and 2-door hard-tops. In 1962, in the Chevy line-up there were 2-door sedans and two different 2-door hard-tops, the Impala version and the Bel Air version. The Bel Air version became known as the "bubbletop" hard-top because of it's more rounded 1961 top. To my knowledge, this was the first time that any automotive series had two different hard top models in the same series, and only Chevy had that distinction and it only happened in 1962...
