I'm a little late to the party, but isn't that type of fabric called brocade? 58-60+ GM would be a good start. Have the dealer fabric book for my '64 Pontiac somewhere and it seems there were some neat fabrics up into the mid '60s too.
I finally went thru my books. That type of fabric was used into the 70`s. Many different patterns. Blue was used the most. Red was used the least. As far as choices in fabric patterns. In about 1970, the color changed to more of a drab maroon. Good luck on your search. But finding that exact pattern. Good luck. Here`s what I did my car in. Gonna update it with a different pattern. Same fabric thou. Also gonna use a back seat out of a 67 Riv. After 20 years, it`s time for a change. The material is an aftermarket that's been discontinued.
I had a 67 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham years back and it needed a spot fixed in the upholstery and went to a place and they called it brocade floral pattern the brocade is the high and low stitching the high is the shinny part , Chrysler used it alot there's was not usually a floral pattern ....anyways the place I went to was in Portland Oregon an old upholstery shop and they had piles and shelves and more shelves of it in alot of colors and patterns ...but this was in late 80's early 90's...you never know ?? In the picture is some n.o.s factory 57 Chrysler material that I have had for years... I like the way the colors change under different lighting...... I believe it very well could be ..if any one is currently doing a build and wanting to keep it totally traditional and can't find any of that vintage seat blocking 2x4 material.... I can set you up with some genuine vintage traditional Oregon grown 2"x 4" blocking lumber here's some examples in natural and stained finishes.... notice the grain count...you can't find that at Lowe's....then there's always wood grain contact paper...you can do anything in wood grain with that stuff....in fact I have a little wood graining project going as I post.....got wood?....... I kid...... Sent from my QTASUN1 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
