Greetings everyone, Well I've decided to use all my wide five stuff and my 250 inline six in my chevy modified. So now I need to settle on witch motor I'll use in my a sedan. First choice is a 394 olds and auto( I've almost given up on the four speed swap) Second choice is 440 mopar with four speed. I'm wanting a mid 60's drag car vibe. All I need is a nudge in either direction. Hope to have some pics of my junk posted tomorow, so that way you guys can my progress or lack thereof. Thanks, Jason
Both engines would RULE , ........just depends on the overall look that you are shooting for,...butt I like the looks of both engines,..how are you going to DRESS them???
This may sound crazy but I want to make the motor look like it was pulled from a new car in the mid 60's. I ve got a 3 duece intake for the olds and a two four intake for the 440. The 440 will look like a max wedge just because I've got the 426 max wedge stickers for the valve covers and some small flat black air cleaners. I just wish I had a cross ram intake for it but man that is very pricey. So in short either one will be painted factory colors with 60's intakes and white coated headers.
MOPAR & 4spd ALL THE WAY !!!!!!!!!!! DO IT JUST LIKE YA SAID, BUT CHROME THE STOCK VALVE COVERS/FLAT AIR CLEANERS & USE THE MAX WEDGE STICKERS ON 'EM ....... VERY COOL
Thanks for all the input. Now all I need to do is round up all my 440 parts from storage. I'm very excited about the sedans powertrain. Now this is another idea I've been kicking around: One of my friends has a bbc that was unblown and mechanicaly injected. He's given me his injector nozzels and a belt driven fuel pump and has offered to help me setup and tune a stack injection setup for the street!!!
Cliffy's T bucket has a 383 Mopar with a four speed, it's got 3 of those half-moon shaped carbs from a Corvette 427 with a bunch of finned aluminum shit on it. Looks pretty cool. I could see it looking cool with all the factory stickers and paint type shit on it too. I'll vote the Mopar, although the Olds is a cool motor too. There are no bad choices in that list.
