https://www.kustomrama.com/index.php?***le=1955_Ford Here's a good source. I like the Savoy grill the best on the 55-56 cars. A tube grill would be a close second.
I've seen the small vertical bars on the stock grill blacked out with flat black paint and it looks pretty good, it kind of gives the illusion of a bar grill. Sorry no pictures.
I have seen that done Mark and consider doing it myself. Maybe sometime in the future when I have lots of spare time. LOL
"Back in the Day" it was off to the local wrecking yard with a tape measure and your good imagination, this can be done today but your pickings will probably be 1980's parts and later.
Nice!! I used the stock lenses and mounted a white LED Halo Ring inside for driving lights. The only bad part is that the 6500k super-white light of the LEDs made my Halogen headlights looks so pathetically dim and almost yellow-tinted, that I had to convert the Headlights to LED as well. Pix to follow.
I love this look, too. ..and heres a link to a Hot Rod Mag article that shows a mod to wrap the outer edge of the Chev Turn Signal Housing to the outside of the front fender: https://www.hotrod.com/articles/0607rc-custom-fitting-1954-chevy-grille/
as good as all these grilles are....are they really an improvement on the original ????? i really love customs and mixing and matching parts....but...do we alter just for the sake of change or to "beautify" the cars of our choice
