I am currently looking for some replacement floor braces for my 53 coupe as mine are for the most part gone. I contacted EMS Automotive to see if their braces are available yet and he said not until next year sometime.

Would 49-51 floor braces be the same? If not what about the 55-up braces? If anyone has any ideas or knows if anyone selling these braces let me know, I think these are a little beyond my skill set to fab up myself.

    Thanks!

Since the 1955 and the 1952-54 share the same ch***is from the firewall back you should be able to modify the '55 pieces to fit. Were there pictures to compare ?

I got a kit from Mac's - kit is end pieces only(floor to inner rocker) go about 3" in on the floor crossmembers. I only used a couple 2-4, don't have a use for left overs, used the very front left & rt,
and 2? of the intermediate ones. Depends on which ones you need. If interest, let me know.

I am going to fabricate mine for my 53. I’ll post pictures up soon. The two front p***enger and driver side are rotted out too.

Nice! Definitely keep me posted with some pictures! I may just tackle the job myself so I’m interested to see how you do it.

I talked with EMS the other day and he said that neither 49-51 or the 55-56 braces would work. Sometime at the beginning of the year supposedly their 52-54 replacements will be available.

I was lucky and mine were not that bad so I made my own. They were all solid at the frame, just mainly rusted at the inner rocker panel. I just cut back until I hit solid metal and then fabricated a piece to fit in. I only have one picture of one of the pieces partially done but you get the idea.
This is what I started with

And this is the piece partially fabricated

Pretty much what I had to do on the '57. Replacement ends were not available at the time.

I made a template out of cardboard used a harbor freight sheet metal brake for the bend. Found one on OfferUp for 80$ so it’s worth it to me. I still need to cut the center piece and weld them together

Now I need to make another for the p***enger side. Any questions feel free to ask thanks
