examples please... i was thinking 235 L6/T5/4.11 combo in a little modified would be pretty *****in... anyone...anyone...???
Hey chopolds was it hard to mate the 292 and the t5 together? I have a t5 out of an s10 that I want to put behind my 250 straight six. One thing I have found out about the s10 5 speeds is that alot of them have a really low first gear so you don't have to run low gears you can run more of a highway gear and still take off the line really well. I have had a few people put low gears like 3.73's or 4.11's in their cars and not like it because you can't use first because of it being so low. Almost like you have a granny 4speed out of a truck in there. So you might want to take that into consideration also when your planning your car. Just my .02 D
i havent looked up the numbers on the trans...all i know is that its out of a camaro....sporty gears....the rear end is a 3.55 as is...i think that would be fantastic as a commuter/hiway runner... anyone have pics of 6 cyl mods? thanks.
Mine is a 235/S-10 t-5/3.73's I wish I had 4.11's though, I could really use them in 5th gear. My car is considerably heavier than a modified, I think is was just shy of 2900lbs.
I run a 235 with a T-5 (S10) driving into a 3.27 posi. Minor mods to mate it to the 235. I will be upgrading to a 250/T-5/3.27 for more power and fuel efficeincy. I had a ****** spacer plate fabbed by a local machine shop to space the T-5 one half inch back from the bellhousing. this allows me to use any proper bolt pattern GM T-5 without the mods I required on the 235. the same ****** spacer could be used behind the 235 for the same results. you can also use the original S10 bellhousing and shave the bell off of it and leaving the plate area that the ****** bolts to for a ****** spacer too. Inline 6 with a T-5 is a great set up. r
