Back to Victoria point Shopping Centre for the monthly coffee run. Good roll up as we go into summer weather. Lots of black A model coupes!! Hudson's first official event with the new grille. Next weekend is the big Yamba New South Wales event. Usually close to 400 cars. Pictures here in the first row in the morning sun always have a lot of shadows but the other rows all good shots.
@hudson48 thanks for sharing the show and your Custom looks fantastic and challenging a Caddy for real estate...
Ah, evidence I was there! I nearly fell over when I saw Tony Miller's old Victoria cruise in. Gorgeous car.
Great pictures of some really nice cars! Thanks for posting. Hope you all have a good summer down there. I was wondering if Tony had sold that car.
Wow! Those are great pics. I want my summer back!!! Is that grey '55 Ford with the Lincoln caps that is in the first batch a clone of the one that was built in the LA area or is same car? You guys sure have some very good cars. Long live the commonwealth!
See my earlier post. But to answer specifically, yes it is. Originally built by Tony Miller, or 50fraud by his HAMB handle. Oh, and it's a '56, he likes to play games like that.
What's with all the ugly black cycle. Fenders? If you use Ford V8 spare tire covers and paint them body color, they would look much better.....instead of just a way to satisfy fender laws. Like this blue A roadster pickup. Just saying.....
50fraud, yeah that’s the guy. Didn’t know it went down under. Yeah I knew it was a’56 but fell into the trap though at that angle the roofline looks higher like a ‘55. I prefer ‘56 grilles but to each his own. I do like the Fairlane side trim a plot but the Mainline trim is very subtle. Who owns it now?
Side trim is actually '55 Customline. The car now belongs to Josh Evans, who has repainted and re-upholstered it very nicely. X38 says that it's really looking sharp.
Maybe if you squint your eyes a bunch! Otherwise they sort of look a little hokey.....sort of a negative feature instead of a positive one. Do to various fender laws in the States, especially back in the day, cycle fenders were used on lots of hot rods. Especially the ones that were finished enough to be driven on the streets. Not many, if any were camouflaged.
I have 3 sets of Ford Spare tire rings that will be used as fenders. They will be painted the same color as the car that will be built in the future.
I do agree...many of the vintage cycle or trim ring fenders looked all Hotrod without any hiding them...many times it was a bobbed fender on the back with a cycle style up front. I think a big issue for negating a cycle or Spare Ring fender is the modern wider tires...they would be a very Fat cycle fender and that might be iffy in the looks department. It does **** not being able to exercise the without option though...I feel they're pain
