I been procrastinating. On my OT vehicle I decided to replace a input shaft bearing. The bearing I bought online 8 months ago is wrong size. Why am I not surprised?:D IMG_2924.JPG . Napa will have one here in 6 days.

Took the 0/T to a local show. Met up with a friend and his '57. Talked cars, it was at a local mall so the Queen went shopping.
A couple of cool engines there.

Took my 37 Chevy p/u for the longest trip ever today, went to a swapmeet in the morning and took mom up to the lake for a birthday dinner. I drove it 190 miles today and now that I got the speedometer as close to correct as I can get it can finally see what kind of gas mileage the 235 is getting.

  10. I took the coupe out for most likely the last romp of the season. She was a beast as almost always. Now time to tear into her and get ready for spring. Its a vicious cycle . LOL.:)

I spent a few hours fixing a taillight and trying to figure out why the turn signal didn’t work. Turns out it never had a flasher installed. All fixed!

Results of the great head swap adventure..... In between rain showers made one pass on our first day, terrible stumble and ran 11.57/117. Couldn't cure the stumble so swapped on my only other carb, a 1050 dominator. Figured I would make it run or drown it trying. Cured the stumble, ran a best of 11.31/117. Not too shabby for a stock 68 Riviera shortblock with a 490 lift cam, some darn good flowing aluminum heads and too much carb in a 3500 pound car. Probably a tenth or two left in it with some tuning. For starting off having a hard time getting this thing to even launch, wound up really happy with the result. IMG_20181030_174706945.jpg

Took my old mock-up 4 bolt 350 Chevy block to the machine shop to see if it's useable as a base for a stronger engine for my '56.
Took the sub-rail/floor from my '33 pu and a pair of '50 Ford wheels to our newly reopened sandblast and powder coater as a test to see how he does. The price quote was good, we'll see about the workmanship.

I beg to differ with you on your mechanical ability. You used a lot of screws and presumably a screw gun, correct? I don't see evidence of blood on the walls anywhere so, you must have done something right;)
