What’s up everyone! I’ve been poking around on here for quite sometime and finally got around to creating a account.
My latest project in the works is a 63 Shortbox GMC. I am currently installing a Muncie 4 speed behind the clapped out smallblock. If anyone has any pointers I’d much appreciate it.
Also if anyone is interested in some of my past projects you can check them out on my Hutch’s Hot Rods Facebook page.
I am looking forward to actually meeting some of you folks that I’ve been stalking the last few years haha.

If you are running the stock side-mount cast iron bellhousing, you will want to check the bearing retainer diameter. 1968 and up bellhousings have a larger hole, or you may have to swap the bearing retainer on your 4 speed. I think it is pretty much a bolt in deal on a 3 speed truck, other than a shifter. What trans do you have in it now?

Yesterday afternoon I pulled the auto trans and got pretty everything swapped over to the 4 speed stuff. My biggest hurdle will be getting my shifter where I want it . It’s going pretty smooth so far. Thanks for the reply.

Looks like you have it well under control. Is your present driveshaft going to work?

There is a 2 inch difference between the turbo 350 and the Muncie. I am flipping the rear end to the top of the leaf springs to lower it . I should gain an inch there on the drive shaft. I was looking on the speedway site and they make a slip yoke that is an inch longer than what I have so that should get me where I need to be.
