I know this is off topic but I am stoked right now. Last Friday I was frocked to chief electricians mate in the Coast Guard. Which basically means that I was going to be a chief in name but not pay. Well the advancement message came out today and I am going to be advanced to E-7/Chief on June 1. Sorry to bring this here but this is a big step for me. So on the first I report to my new ship with the pay to go with the job.
Hey congrats. I think you're on a great path right now in the service. At Yahoo my team hires quite a few chief, mechanical & electrial engineers that are former military, and since we run pretty damn complex data centers--these guys make damn good bucks. By the way-- just noticed you are in Washington. Reach out to me if you're interested in joining the private sector-- as we got big stuff going on in the Chelan & Grant county areas... Take care, -scott noteboom
Congrats man all most joined myself . Use to watch them leave early in the morning from are new jersey beach house in the summer.
so do you have to carry a chiefs book and do all the silly navy stuff when ya make chief ? (I did the shellback ceremony!!) I remember soon to be chiefs getting pages ripped out of their books and getting charged for it! Anyway, congratulations!
congrats i don't know about the navy but in the army e-7 is just about the hardest step in anyone's career. good luck and remember to take care of your troops
GOOD DEAL!!! you guys don't get paid enough anyway..... now if we'd take the $$$ spent on the illeagles....
