Anyone put 100,000 on their ride? Thats a funny question. A better question might be-who has a working odometer? I measure my cars in years of daily driving, not miles.

My '63 Impala had 126000 miles on the clock when I bought her in 1984. She now has over 231000 on the clock, but that doesn't include the 6 months or so that I drove it without a speedo cable. She still has her original 327 and Powerglide. She's never had the heads or the pan off of the engine and I haven't touched the Powerglide except to ad maybe a total of 1 pint of flud in 21 years.

Here's a link to a picture of her.

The Rodder's Journal ran an article a while back on the rebuilding of Pete Eastwood's '34 (?) coupe after he'd run it over 100k. Great photos, and Pete's a hell of a nice guy, too.

My '68 Charger had @ 67,000mi. on it when I started driving it at age 16.
    Now I'm 33 and it's got over 250,000mi.
Although I'd bet 50,000 of them miles are only on the rear tires from doing burnouts. Do they count? HAHAHAHA!

My first car, a 83 Oldsmobile 88, has about 208k miles on it, 91k of which I put on. My dad put the other 117k on it. Ran great when I parked it. Now it's sitting in my mom's driveway awaiting restoration. My current driver, a 90 Corvette, has almost 140k. I've driven it about 45k, and my dad put on the rest. Who knows how many miles my 47 Roadmaster had on it. The odometer didn't work as long as I had it. But I estimate I put 500 miles on it the first week I had it in high school.

The speedo in most of my cars don't work. All I need is the tach!

  8. Have put 148,000 and a little change on the '40 Chevy convert spread over 27 years. She's good to go! Probably another 10K this year with another trip to Wendover in August.

I've just never got tired of that car.

I've got 110000 on my 47 chevy since 1990 and the 52 convert has 30000 on it in only 3 summers.

My 74 vette has 280000 on it since I bought it new and I've put over 65000 on my 62 vette in the last 20 years.

Bought my coupe in 1960. I've been through four 4-bangers (one built by Ansen), a flathead and five chevy small blocks. Totals 435,000 miles. I drive it every day, every where, all weather.

You bet. I have a 72 ford 1/2 ton pickup ( Mercury clone ) that has over 600,000 miles on it. I got it with 75,000 miles on it over 20 yrs ago and just keep driving it and wearing out motors. First it was with 302's, but when they could not take pulling a big travel trailer around, i went to 460's.The last built 460 went over 325,000 before the bearings got tired, so i built an even better 460 in 1997 and it has over 100,000 on it and going strong.

We've got a 1993 Grand Wagoneer that just did a trip from MN to NE and back which brought the tally to 294,000 miles... I can't say I've put all the miles on, just 70,000 or so, but it's still pretty cool. I bought it from the original owner though, and it took about a year for his butt groove to go away! :)

I have over 100,000 on this one in 21 years. With no rebuilds or re-paints.

390,000 miles on my '59 Cadillac Coupe de Ville...275,000 have been put on by me since 1997. Rebuilt the mill in 2001 (pulled it out on 9/11, so I didn't hear about the bombing until the late afternoon), trans has been rebuilt twice (turbo 400 with adapter kit behind the original caddy 390), I'm on my fifth set of tires and my third set of wheel bearings... They're no fun parked in the garage... :)

  16. A lot of, or most of the guys on here, myself included, have 50's or back daily drivers and I bet all of us have seen 100k. 100k only means you're a quarter of the way there to an engine rebuild.

You leave one of these daily driven hot rods sitting a short while and they get pissed, usually give you hell on the next start up. They want to be driven, more and more and more and more. "Take me here, take me there, let's go where there's a lot of people, I'm a filthy attention whore!" Yeah, 100k is nothin.

Show me the 2006 mini van that's still running in 50 years.

  17. Yeah and my odometer is only 6 digits and one of them is a decimal.
